Could you live simpler without all the modern electonics, microwaves, ect and fast paced lifestyles? and live more like the for fathers...if you thought it would balance the economy and get our nation out of debt? Would you be willing to GIVE UP the push button world for the old school ways?

In this day and age, I doubt it. You might get away with it for a while but alot of it would depend on the person and their own personal strength. I don't think I'm much like the pioneer women...strong and tough...I've gotten too used to comforts. I can't see me scrubbing clothes in a washtub, grind wheat or hauling water and wood. I would like to visit these times and see how things were done and I think ppl, including myself, have come to depend too much on convenience. Most of us have gotten used to all the push button ease. I just wonder how will we make out if it were to ever come to this? We are all spoiled, dont you think? I guess we would learn to live with it.

Well, I think there is a big difference between choosing to live that way b/c you want to and having to live that way b/c you need to for survival. We all learn to do what we have to do to survive. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

Oh no way! But, once the EMP's(Electomagnetic Pulse) hits our nation from either American politicians or Russians, we will ALL be living in the stone ages, forget the pioneer times. Look it up EMP, you will be shocked and quite frightened. It is time to stock up on all things necessary to survive without electricity.

I think it is smart to always do that and stay stocked up on what you can. It does not hurt anyone and can help save lives when bad things happen. I think your smart for being prepared. Its better to be safe then sorry!

I have often thought about this question. i would be able to give up alot in my life. But not everything. Such as electricity or heat. I would howver have no problem having a garden or raising animals.

I think the ac would be a big problem for me. I have allergies so it can be rough. It could be something that would take alot of getting used too. The pioneers did not have the pollution that we do now.

When I was a child, we didn't have a tv, phone, car, fridge or any of the modern day electronics like computers, mocrowaves etc. We didn't have many toys but we learned to make some at school. I think those were the happiest days of my life and I wouldn't mind at all going back to those days. However, I think that is as far back as I would like to go.

I guess we will find out if it ever comes back to that. There are so many thngs that we do everyday that we would miss. You cant help but wonder with energy and all if at some point and time, it could happen.
