Have you found your name in a book?

Recently I met a few authors at a forum where they spoke, read from their novels, and then we got to purchase their books and get them to autograph them. I was surprised that the first author spoke about a family with my surname. I know this family is not related to me but the names are names I have seen in my father's book of geneology. To some my last name may be ordinary, but it's not a name one would choose as a novel character. The last name is BIRD. That is my maiden name and I am writing under that name. Have you ever read a novel where you recognized characters' names as someone you know in real life? Did you think it was cool? Here's a link to my complete story about this fun event: http://www.authspot.com/Journals/Armchairs-Authors-and-Arts-Review.289665

I've seen one character so far with my full name. There's an old book series by KA Applegate named Animorphs (I'm sure someone has heard of it). It just so happens that she used my name in book #20. I always thought it was pretty cool that she named a character using my name, even though it was a very minor character.

I actually found both my maiden name and my current last name in two different books. My maiden name is Newton, yes like fig-newton lol. A couple of my friends actually call me figgy. My current last name is Rousseau. The first book is called, "Candid or Optimism." My names were not used for characters, they were used as references in the foot notes that the author had at the bottom of the page. Izacc Newton who was a very famous mathmetician and physicist was mentioned, and Jaques Rousseau, a french philosopher. In highschool I got a "B" in math and my teacher wrote on my paper, "with a name like Newton this should be an "A". I thought it was pretty funny. The second book I found both my names in, and I am sure if there were little fan girls reading this they would notice my maiden name as a character in "Twilight", Mike Newton. The ones with half a brain may have noticed that Jaques Rousseau entertains Bella's thoughts in the first book of the series, I do believe.

I've come across my name a few times, Tina isn't a hugely popular name but I do see it a few times. I've caught it in a few movies as well. My Mom named me after Tina Louise, the actress that played Ginger on Gilligan's Island. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

I find it pretty funny to find other people I know in books I read. This one guy gets a girl pregnant, this other one is gay, it's kind of interesting, actually. It makes it harder for me to imagine the character any different from the person I know, so I think they look like them.
