Plastic or Paper?

When you go to the grocery store and the cashier asks you plastic or paper, which one do you choose? I like the plastic bags, because they are easier to handle, sometimes I ask for both, because with the paper in the plastic it makes the package more sturdy. I use the plastic bags to line my small trash cans. Which what do you prefer, and what do you do with your plastic bags after you unload your groceries?

it is ok that you like plastic because it is ease to handle but the problem is the disposal of the plastic is the problem

I normally get plastic, but I will get paper for the frozen items I am buying if it is hot out. I do have some reusable bags, but I do not always remember to put them back in the car after I unload my groceries. Plastic bags get used for lining small trash cans and for stinky diapers.

I have my own cloth bags I take to the supermarket but i still like to get a few plastic bags to use for my rubbish, I jusy don't know why they can't use bio-degradable plastic bags in the first place, there is already some supermarkets using them so why can't they all...

When we do our weekly shopping they only use plastic carrier bags so we dont get asked. They have started to sell thicker bags now which we take every week to use but if we need extra we just ask for more carrier bags. I dont think paper bags would be very strong.

I've never actually been asked. There are only plastic bags. I think that they're really mostly used because they are cheaper and people use them for garbage bags, plus they can be reused or recycled.
