Why do my cats always look surprised to see me?

Today, my cats got stuck in one of the bedrooms. And, when I opened the door to let them out, they looked up surprised, as if I'd interrupted an important conversation. Both cats had their own perch. One was lounging on the bed comfortably and the other one was perched on the back of the chair. The shocked expression on the their was priceless! Wish I'd had a camera so I could post a pic. Do your cats ever act as if you're intruding into their lives? Please share your funny cat moments.

cats are funny little things, I would love to know what is going on my my cats head sometimes, when my cat stares at me, straight eye to eye I often wonder what she is thinking, she really just seems to stare...

lilaclady, you are talking about staring, you should see my Jake. Jake will get on the ottoman by my husband's chair and just sit and stare at him. Sometimes my husband has to turn his head because Jake will out stare him. They are indeed funny little things. Whenever Jake gets closed up in the closet, when you open the door he just looks at you , like it is about time you came to open the door.

Cats are such a mystery to me. But, I love them! Don't know what I did before I had cats.

Are you sure? That's very interesting. Perhaps your cats are doing some bad things so that they will be surprised to see you:) When my cats see me, they just want to get close to me and very sticky:) I love China

If you only knew what they were saying about you. Then you would understand the surprised look.
