well, people are telling that, appearence matters nothing. it's only the virtue which should be pay attention to. that's a wondful conculsion. at the same time, let's see the reality, does appearence matter nothing? in sociality ,in education, in hunting a job, in making friends, even in marriage. does everyone's moral yardstick the same? hard to tell. we know judging people solely by their appearance is not right, but why facelift is so hot today? wt appearence really matters ur life? thank you for ur sharing (*^_^*) happy mylot!

Appearance has never really mattered to me, the man in my life is one who I would not have chosen based on looks, and in the past I have been involved with men not by looks but who they are. That said I think that appearance matters, studies show that people that are overweight are less likely to get a job, may find it harder to rent a place to live, and other issues in life. Where as attractive people will get the job, etc. One study had a woman apply for the same type of office postion in a series of companies, with makeup job, and a "fat" suit, she was made to look over weight. She was the best quailified for the position according to experience, and skills, those places that at least gave her the courtesy of testing her had her test results to prove she was the best qualified. The same woman with out the fat suit, dressed just right and very attractive in appearance, went to the SAME companies, on the SAME day, and applied for the SAME job, only this time she purposely 'dumbed' down her skills she was barely or NOT qualified at all. In the end, she was offered the job in her attractive persona at several of the companies and not offered them at ANY of them in the persona of the extremely qualified "fat" look. So yes we say appearance doesn't matter, but it does by the same token the same test was done, using say thick glasses, and fake crooked teeth, no real make up, and men and women were made to look less attractive, then they would go back, well groomed, and good looking, but less qualified, and more often than not the "ugly" people were not offered the job, and the attractive people were.

yes ofcourse appearence matters a lot if u r not looking good or in a good personality i dont think few concerns will be taking u in.. it plays a major role in hunting jobs. whereas in case of education joing the institute wont be a great matter, but ur friends and others who study with u may indirectly by commenting about ur appearence and judging people by appearene is the worst ur guess may be50%--50% in my own experience i have misjudged many and have matured in it the only think that is not possible is judging a person either he is good or bad on the first time
