A fiber-rich diet plan is usually designed to encourage eating plenty of high fibre foods like whole grains, and fruits and vegetables. A high-fiber diet can help to normalize sugar levels in your blood. It also helps to improve your cholesterol levels and regulate your bowel function. This will help to keep you from feeling hungry, which aids in the goal of weight loss. A typical day, one should be consuming about 25 to 30 grams of fibre. There are two forms of fiber: soluble and insoluble. It's important to consume both types of fiber for good health. Soluble fiber helps regulate blood-sugar levels by delaying the absorption of glucose in your bloodstream. It improves cholesterol levels by reducing the absorption of cholesterol in the bloodstream as well. Oats, nuts, beans, and fruit contain predominately soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber adds bulk to your stool, which promotes regularity. Insoluble fiber are predominately found in whole grains and vegetables. So, the next time you are planning to go on a diet, you may want to consider planning more fiber in your diet. It may help to shed that extra few pounds that you have beent trying to lose all these while!

Yes. I love wholemeal bread. I love brown rice too. However, my family members and friends think that I am weird. As for fruits, I try to have at least one serving of fruits a day. Since I eat out almost every day, it's not easy to find fruits to eat. Every morning, I'll drink a glass of fiber drink just to make sure that I have enough fiber in my body.

Oh yeah. I know what you mean. It is tough to try and follow a fixed regime to attain that required amount of fibre per day when you are eating out all the time. Just have to be very concious of what you eat. Then it can be achieved. A lot of effort and discipline needed.

Well, I sure hope so. Last night was the first night I go out to take a long walk. Thereby, jumpstarting my efforts to lose a little weight. Will see what I can do in the food department soon. As of now, the next step is to watch what I eat when I get take-outs.

That is good news indeed! 10 pounds! Wow, that is an achievement in such a short period of time. Glad to hear that he is getting better. I am also looking at ways to improve my diet. Of late I have been putting my diet on the side and eating anything and everything. Wish me luck on my quest to lose a few pounds as well.

Hello ahgong. I eat more vegetables than meat every day, but I do not eat enough fruit, which is not good on my side. After reading your informative discussion, I think that it is a very good idea to eat food rich in fiber. Thank you for the discussion and take care.

well i must admit i don't eat very healthily. i don't usually take fibre-rich food. in fact, i think i take only 25-30 grams of fibre in a week! thankfully i don't really have any of the problems mentioned. sometimes my cholesterol level does go up to borderline high. that's solved simply by eating less lard bits. that is my favourite and i always 'over-dose' on them. i can ask for extras for both my partner's and my noodles and finish the bits myself. maybe i should be getting my partner to include more fibre in his diet. cheers ;p

I know what you mean. Those little bits are like so tasty! And the worst part of it is, it is so sinful, and I enjoyed it so much too! Darn... if only the best enjoyment in foods are also the least sinful, then that would be a perfect world! 8p Yep, should get more fibre into your diet. Try drinking a cup of oats or cereals in the morning. That should do the trick!

yes those little bits really taste out of this world! this is something i can never do without. every mouth of it elicits a 'mmmmm' from me. my partner ever joked that i'd sell him for these little bits. ;p i don't really have the hots for oats or cereal. the only times i've eaten them is when i'm overseas. sometimes when i stay in a hotel for a long time, i get sick of the breakfast stuff. that's when i'll just take a bowl of cereals. so i guess vegetables will be the way to go for me when it comes to getting more fibre. cheers ;p

ha ha ha ha ha... sell your husband for those little lard bits eh? You really love those stuff eh? Well, I do too. But I try not to eat them as much now. Vegetables are just one form of fiber you have to take. Do try to take the other fiber in the soluble class as well.

Yeah.. Very right!! ^_^ Fiber is actually very important to us, and especially for ple who are on diet.. Most ple will only think by not eating or eating less, they will loss weight.. But they are wrong.. That will only help to loss weight initially, but after a certain period, they will find themselves gaining weight again.. That's because they dun have the right amount of fibre inside them to feed their cells the right nutrition ^_^ And when one is lossing weight, and fast are lost, water is actually replacing the fats lost, causing water retention in the body.. SO with more fiber food, it allows us to loss the water thru stool or pee ^_^ hehe

I know exactly what you mean. I used to be on a high fibre diet. Low carb, low sugar for a period of time. And I lost a good amount of weight. But the efforts required to keep a concious lookout on what we eat is very tiring. And I let loose when I when on a holiday. Came back, I couldn't get back on the routine previously. And the weight lost? Well, over the last 5 years, I put it all back. Now thinking about going back on the diet, I am very reluctant cos I am so comfortable with my routine. Sigh...
