Over the past few months our three year old has been getting out of bed in the middle of the night. He comes in our room but doesn't tell us what is wrong. So we let him stay until he falls asleep then put him back in his bed. He has a night light in his room and we keep his door open. He's also been having problems going to bed at night. We must put him up about 15 times before he finally gives in and stays in his bed and sleeps. Has anyone else gone through this with their child?

my daughter would ask me to sleep beside her first til she fell asleep. then she got used to it that she sleep alone in her bed. sometimes our cat will lay on her princess chair so she's ok with it

My husband has been sleeping on the floor next to my sons's bed to get him to sleep. I think he got too used to it. So when he wakes up in the middle of the night he probably wonders where daddy went.

I know it's hard walking your kids back to bed in the middle of the night. Then they come back in your room and on and on the process goes.

The worst is my half of the bed is against the wall so I'd have to climb over everyone to get her back to bed. That's provided I even heard her come in. And of course hubby just moves his legs so she can crawl in instead of walking her back no matter how much she cries.

Our kids never really did it. when they did come over we took them straight back over to their own beds. I didn't want our kids sleeping in our beds because i can't sleep well when they are in there too. so we kept strict with them staying in their own beds.

I think I need to be a little more strict too. I can't sleep with our son in our bed either. I need my space to stretch out.

My daughter was only in my bed once or twice when she was little. This was a habit that I did not want to start as I have seen alot of people struggle when they finally try to get the little one to stay in there own room.

Every night! We have never been a CIO family so our kids were in bed with us from the beginning. We are teaching them to sleep in their own beds now. We were doing great and then one night we had a great big storm and scare the pants off our fouryear old. Now we are back at square one. I think patience is waht is called for. It takes time. Besides pretty soon you will wake up and that little body will not be there. They grow up so fast. My kids range in age from 18 to 2 and it just floors me how fast they actually grow.
