What's the best laptop to get for about $1000 USD?

Dell? HP? Sony? Toshibas seem to be OK as well as Acers but I was just wondering what experiences people have had with these different machines and which they think is best. I have a lot of mp3s and pictures so storage is a big thing for me but that's not really an issue with the external drives that are now available. But I do tend to run several programs at a time so memory is good. I'm not a fan of Macs even though anyone who has one swears by it. I like PCs. Any opinions?

Hello! I have a Sony Vaio with 3GB RAM and built in webcam. My hubby purchased it just for 1000$ at Best buy. I have no clue about others but Dell is nice too. I would suggest either dell or sony

Why don't you look on Amazon.com or overstock.com? You can look at all the laptops in your price range and they have reviews on the products.
