I love animals, so I do a lot of volunteer work with shelters and adoption centers. I often take photos of the different animals I volunteer with. Sometimes these photos are to be put on the internet along with a bio of the animal to help get it adopted. But sometimes I just take the photos for my own enjoyment. But even when the photos are just for me, I often post them on the internet to raise general awareness for animals that need homes. Well, October just happens to be National Adopt A Shelter Dog Month! In honor of the month, and to help raise awareness for shelter dogs, I wrote and published an article about shelter dogs. In the article I included a bunch of photographs of some of the different shelter dogs I've volunteered with. If you'd like to read the article and view the photos, you can at http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/October-is-National-Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month.289631 Do you enjoy taking photos of dogs? Do you ever use your photography to help raise awareness for a certain cause?

i kept two dogs 6yers ago , but at that time i was just a small girl without camera, so i didn't have chance to take photos of them, it's really pity. later, these two lovely dogs were sent to others beacuse i didn't have time to raise them for studying. now i don't raise pets cause i'm at school and it's not allowed, so i can only take my camera out and take pictures of other peoples' animals, but that's interesting too!

All of our dogs have been shelter dogs. The other side of the picture is socialising and training; at training schools there are many opportunities for photography, and while I donate many pictures to the club where my daughter works with her dogs, it also generates a regular income through pet portraits, event photos and shows. I often suggest this as a way for new photographers to break into the business.
