ok so i work at a call center working with credit cards, and we constantly have to making out calls to different merchants. people constantly complain about how annoying the hold music is, and i can understand why, just about every other call requires us to call out, and the constant drilling and humming and the whole repetativeness of it is more than we can stand. i seriously get headaches from havng to listen to the hold music, sometimes for up to an hour. oh, and my favorite part is when, afetr waiting for nearly an hour for someone to answer...the line diosconnects!

That sounds like a very annoying situation having to be on hold while waiting to talk to a merchant,and I personally agree the hold music is completely repulsive and I can not stand to be put on hold,the music is so bad it also gives me a headache sometimes and makes me want to cuss out the person I am waiting for when they get to me,and I have even thought about hanging up and calling back just so I could try and avoid having to listen to the hold music.

I agree to that. It really isn't annoying but the fact that you've been placed on hold for long makes me hate it more. Very few people I talk to doesn't want to be placed on hold because of the music. And yeah, sometimes there are messages that you hear when you are on hold. "Thank you for calling blah blah blah, please visit this and that.". It's really bad when the line disconnects after holding for quite some time.

honestly, the music doesn't bother me too much when i'm on hold i usually put my phone on speaker and do my own thing so im not really paying attention to the music.
what REALLY annoys me about being on hold is when the recording comes on and tell me that "my call is important to them"
...my call can't really be important to them if ive been put on hold for 2 or 3 hours!!!
