Wrongful doing Banks

Ridiculous. I don't think it's right, that I'm going to have to be stuck paying over $300.00 for withdrawal and fees on a check that was CLEARED from the bank! I had deposited an employment check into my supposedly Free Savings account, and at that time of deposit I was told to give it 3-7 days to clear. On the 7th afternoon the check went from Pending to Available Funds. I withdrew $200.00 and two days later, (I check my banking everyday), upon checking my account, I was shocked to see I am now - $300.00+ in the hole. I immediately gave them a call and no matter what I said and what I was originally told, I have to pay that back! I don't think this is right at all. It should of stayed in the Pending then, never should of been cleared. Why are'nt they going after the person who originally wrote the check? It had to have pleased the bank someway for them to take it off of Pending. Yes, I did withdraw the money and used it, but the bank should be held responsible in some way considering the Pending status was removed and made available by the bank. It should of never happened. I don't get why they would even take it off of Pending if the money did not come through for them. I just don't get it, I really don't thinks it's fair or right, and it really irritates me that I have to pay over $100.00 more than what I even took out. I don't get how some of these banks are going under and need bailing out, when they really like to rip people off! Uuugh..............Does anyone else think this is correct or ever have it happen?

I have overdraft protection....You should get it too after you clear this up with the bank. It's will save you so much money.

One problem with that, you have to have really good credit to qualify and have that with this bank apparently. The other bank I used to go to, I had that protection and just may be going back to them.
