This movie stars Pierce Brosnan and Gerard Butler, the actor on the movie 300. When my husband saw this on Video City, we thought it is a good movie because of the famous action stars. But in favor of the movie, it is also quite thrilling and a suspense one, but it will really suspend your interest because it will take you to know the real reason of the story only at the last part of the movie. I mean, you will have to bear watching almost the whole part of the film and then get a very simple reason behind the conflict in the end. Let me give you a recap. Gerard Butler and his wife has a daughter. Theirs is a wealthy and happy family. Then one day, when the wife was supposed to be having a trip to enjoy herself, they hired a nanny for the daughter, and the couple was heading for their trip, Pierce Brosnan showed up on their car with a gun. They don't know Pierce Brosnan and he made the whole day of the couple like a nightmare by telling them that he has their child. He told them to withdraw a large sum of money only to be burned after a while by Pierce Brosnan and then some other worse things like the wife having to strip for Pierce in front of his husband. In the end of the story, Pierce Brosnan is the husband of the woman Gerard is having an affair of, who happens to be a friend of his wife also. By the way, the wife here was played by the woman who played Brendan Fraser's wife in the Mummy 3. Gerard's wife and Pierce Brosnan knew about the affair and they punished Gerard by setting him up. If you think this is a good plot, then you might enjoy watching the movie.

Yes I saw, and own his movie...it is really good. But, they changed the name of the movie to Shattered. I don't know why, I like Butterfly on a Wheel more :P I really love Gerard Butler and I stumbled upon this title while I was looking up his Filmography. I bought it before I even saw lol, and I'm lucky it was so good :P Defeniatly a very good plot and twists. I have to add...I don't think there is ever a good excuse for cheating, and Gerards character was wrong for doing so. BUT after seeing the ending, and know what is going on...what his wife did to him was WAY worse than what he did to his wife.

As for the cheating part, I think we won't be able to decipher the pain of being cheated if we haven't experienced it yet. And there are so many types of cheating that a husband can do to destroy a woman's feeling. But as for the movie, I don't think the wife putting his husband to that kind of situation is very risky. If you put that on an actual situation, there are hundreds of things that are possible to go wrong. They may end up killing each other or hurting other innocent people.

What he did with his work colleague was brought about by mutual and forbidden lust. A human weakness that could have been avoided. Yes....he and the woman were guilty of an extra marital affair and the emotional pain caused to their respective spouses would have been excruciating. What the injured wife, Abby, and Pierce Brosnan cooked up was premeditated mental cruelty and by implicating the daughter, by reference only, admittedly....it was despicable to let Gerard Butler think his daughter may have been murdered, even raped. As LilyoftheThorns ( 4669 ) says...." Just leave the jerk " Abby had become psychotic, irrational and removed from reality if she thinks what she did was " payback " for her husband's infidelity.
