Epidural's look painful

I'm not pregnant or anything, but I watch discovery health a lot and the birth stories on there. The doctors put this needle into the spine to get rid of sensitivity from the waist down and I just realized that they leave in this cord , eh... looks painful! How do they pull that out?

oh I think the whole thing would be painful, I can remember the first time they showed a birth on TV I fainted so i don't think i would be any good at baby making...

lol, i'm sorry, yes I agree it would all be painful it looks like it would be, mostly the sea sections.
