How could he be in the lead?

United States

I hear the new, everyday. They talk about all the states the obama has a hold on. One of the states that they said he hold a lead is Missouri. Well I live in Missouri and I don't know anyone that is a supporter of Obama. I have not even seen one sign in a yard supporting him. I have talked to many people who have not voted in the past, but plan to this time and they are all voting for McCain. So does this mean that it doesn't matter what the people want? Only what the electrol say. I thought we were a free country. Does this really prove that are vote DON'T count? That it only matters what the electorl want? That's not right!!! As a Free country it should be ONE PERSON, ONE VOTE. With computer now I don't understand why it isn't that way... Our election would truly be fair then.. And as an American I would feel that may vote did count or make a difference.. what do you think???

It means that the people you know are not the entire population of Missouri.

No I am getting the same answer for people from one end of the US to the other. I don't know anyone and even everyone I work with are not voting for Obama. Some call him the Anti-Crist. And that's scary

Yes, it's scary that some people have been so deluded that they've gotten to the point where they're calling a Presidential candidate the ANTI-CHRIST, of all things. All of the polls are showing Obama winning, and by a lot. Even RCP's (which leans conservative) electoral map has Obama with the win, even assuming he loses ALL of the swing states: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/ Make no mistake. Obama's winning.

Obviously you don't have any friends in Pennsylvania because Obama is sweeping the Quaker state. Probably for the first time ever even the wealthy old Philadelphia Main Line is registering as Democrat. The yard signs here are 7 to 1 in favor of Obama. It looks like the Philadelpha landslide this time will extend west to the horse farms of Chester County and that should quantee a very important swing state.

I know, it's weird. He's still holding the lead. Everyone I talk to, except one black kid, is voting for McCain. My state is supposed to be supporting Obama. All the forums online I'm on the majority is for McCain. I don't understand the early voting and wish they would stop it. Many people won't bother to vote in Nov. assuming their vote won't matter anyway.

Tonnie, Good question! I have always saw that the electoral vote seems to be the ONLY thing that really counts. But, not entirely. This year is proving to be a year that people who normally don't vote are coming out and voting.

I don't know all the detials or the terminology, but, it's sad to say that it isn't necessarily ONE PERSON ONE VOTE and never really was. Our founding fathers created our voting system this way because at the time the average citizen could not be trusted to know what they wanted or be intelligent to make such decisions. Sadly, this method hasn't changed. Read about how and why our founding fathers this method of voting yourself. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija
