How and why did you start smoking ??

Many of my friends smoke, when I am with them even I should give it a try lolz. But I just hate the smell of it.I wonder why do people smoke? Is it just for style ? Is it for passion? Just curious and want to know hoe does it feel to smoke ? Or smoking gives you pleasure? Guys tell me why did you start smoking and why are you still smoking lolz :)
