do you dreams trigger the future or are they an illusion?

i believe that dreams trigger the future,that they are signs in your future,as i read from my resources,they say that dreams could affect yhe future or they could be an illusion,They also say that wehn you sleep,your soul is rejected from your body and is transferred to your dreams or other people's dreams,What is the purpose of dreams and what is their ability?

what i think and have read is that dreams are the things that we mostly think of and when our brain is relaxing it makes it a film in dreams and we then derive happiness of it. so if you dream about the future way too often then your dreams will be mostly comprising of the future events.
i don't think dreams trigger future events but sometimes things do look like that we have seen them before and can't think of when and where but that too can be an illusion. although dreaming is very good and atleast something is free of cost for enjoyment! i am a dreamer
