My daughter is having her second appointment with the new parents as teachers lady today. Last month my daughter was extremely bored because the new lady did not talk to the old lady about how advanced my daughter is, so she brought things my daughter already knows. She is 20 months old and the worker is skipping to the 24 month lesson in hopes that my daughter will not get too bored with it. She was very impressed with how bright my daughter is. I hope it goes better this time. Do your kids get bored easily? What do you do to try to keep their attention on something?

My daughter is in kindergarten. Her class is learning about sounds of the alphabet. She gets bored. She came home and told me "Mommy I KNOOOOWW my alphabet" So when it cam to this she almost flew through he assignments and did very well. There are parents out there that are not as active in the childs education, as others. So sometimes teachers I have come across tak e the ONE SIZE fits all approach. My hubby and I go on trips with our daughter to Science center, library wherever trying to keep her excited about learning.

Well, after the parents as teachers visit today I have been informed that my daughter is doing things that some of the kids at the preschool have no idea how to do when they start. I think part of the problem keeping my daughter from getting bored is that she is so advanced for her age. A lot of age appropriate activities are beneath her. For instance sitting at the table drawing with a pencil, and doing a darn good job, is one of her favorite things. Not something you would expect out of a 20 month old.
