I am a coffee lover! I've been drinking coffee since I was a teenager. Even my favorite ice cream flavor is coffee! don't know what it is about the taste, I just love it. Now regular coffee will keep me awake if I drink it after dinner so I had to change to decaf, but I refuse to give it up. I've always heard how bad coffee is for me until this morning when I read this article from Healthier.com. "Good news for coffee lovers: Drinking up to six cups a day of caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee daily won't shorten your life span, a new study shows. In fact, coffee might even help the heart, especially for women, the researchers found."Our results suggest that long-term, regular coffee consumption does not increase the risk of death and probably has several beneficial effects on health," said lead researcher Dr. Esther Lopez-Garcia, assistant professor of preventive medicine at the Autonoma University in Madrid, Spain..... The researchers found that women who drank two or three cups of caffeinated coffee daily had a 25 percent lower risk of death from heart disease during the follow-up (from 1980 to 2004) than non-drinkers. Women also had an 18 percent lower death risk from a cause other than cancer or heart disease compared with non-coffee drinkers."While the caffeine may adversely affect a person, and then should be limited, one doctor/professor from from UCLA said, "I think what this study tells us is not so much that coffee is the answer to everything," he said. But, rather, that some compounds, such as the antioxidants found in coffee, may be healthy. Read the article here http://www.healthier.com/Article.jsp?aid=8075&ref=287156959&zip=33909&sourceid=41163 I say Hooray my coffee is not so bad after all. How about you? Are you a coffee lover? Would you drink more if it was proven beneficial?

I love coffee too but it just doesn't love me. It bothers my stomach quite a bit, so I only drink it every once in a while. I'd drink more if my stomach would let me, but it's quite stubborn on this...

yep, I love my coffee as well, such as cappuccino, ice latte and so on. And the most important is I can keep my mind clear by tasting it, 'cause I always work late in order to finish my job. It's boring, but I've no choice. To earn more money, I have to do all of this, but fortunately I have coffee with me, so I won't feel lonely at night. That's all, I love it very much, but of all it's not good enough to drink too much!

I love this report !! I LOVE my coffee. I drink a bunch of it and always wondered if it was bad to drink that much , but now I am happy to know that I might actually be helping myself by drinking it.

My father used to say that if I had to put milk and sugar in my coffee, that I didn't like coffee. He thought the only way to drink coffee and appreciate it was black. And, I admit - I don't like black coffee. And, I don't like coffee unsweetened with cream or sweetened without cream. But, I CAN tell the difference between good coffee and bad coffee, believe me!! And, I do love flavored coffees. I especially love Iced French Vanilla. I usually drink decaf, but I'm not a heavy coffee drinker unless where I'm working gives it to their employees gratis. I don't drink it more now that I know it has benefits. I drink a bit more green tea than I used to, but even with the coffee I love, after a while, there's an aftertaste that I'm not too thrilled with. So, I limit how much I drink. And, I don't want it with most meals except breakfast - for some reason, I do like it with breakfast, even if breakfast is dinner. Or after dinner when I'm out. It seems to go well then as well. So, I guess I'd say that, yes, I love coffee, but I'm not a coffee fanatic. I don't "need" a cup in the morning. I simply enjoy it.

I love coffee as well. I don't drink decaf unless I am visiting someone and that is what they serve. I can drink a regular cup any hour of the night and it won't keep me up. If I'm stressed a hot cup will relax me. mmmmm coffee. I will say if I drink to much it does cause me to hurt in the chest area but I think that is caffine from the coffee and the diet soda's throug out the day then I just start drinking water and I feel better and back to coffee I go. woohoo

Oh wow that's good news. I'm not a big coffee drinker. I like the blended drinks better even though it's more fattening. Anyway, I think I'll need to start getting used to drinking coffee because everyone in the office needs a cup of two to stay up the entire day! I usually just fuel up on sweets, but maybe coffee's healthier and less fattening. I wonder why it's only beneficial for women and not for men though?
