Sports Dictionary with Alternative Definitions.

The English language is rich with descriptive phrases many of which have several meanings. Here are a few pertaining to sports events. Double play combination - When a baseball shortstop and second baseman combine to record two consecutive outs on the same play, or- A date with twin sisters who happen to work at the local pizzeria. Long-drive - A lengthy golf shot, or- The long drive home after insulting your boss at the Christmas Office Party. Slap-shot - The act of drawing back your stick to shoulder height, and the follow through to deliver a hard shot on the hockey net, or -A open-handed swat to the back of the head by your spouse for arriving home late, after a night out with the boys. Bad-call - a blatant mistake by a game official during live action, or -An extended phone conversation with your mother-in-law after dialing the wrong number. Personal Foul - making physical contact with your opponent in a game of Basketball, or-The unfortunate discharge of Flatus inside a crowded elevator. Strike-out -In baseball, when the batter is called out after three strikes, or- An accurate description of my High School Prom Date. Home Run Trot -In baseball, describing a Hitters stride after hitting the ball out of the Park, or- A mad dash for the lavatory at home, after experiencing stomach cramps while doing an outdoor routine. Hang-time - The short time a football is in the air after a punters kick, or The even shorter time it will take the American People to hang George Bush out to dry on election day, and elect Obama.

hehe I thought of 2 as well... Perfect game---When a baseball pitcher faces 27 batters and none of them gets on base...OR what your college boyfriend THINKS he has going, when he's two timing you with another woman Shut out---Is a baseball game where atleast one team does not score any runs OR when your boyfriend is found out for his cheating ways and can no longer come over for late night visits!! Can you tell I am a baseball fan with a history of lousy boyfriends :)

Yes those are two Good Ones. So has you boyfriend ever got a Shutout from you? Perhaps if you would let him get a couple of "home-runs!" you wouldn't have to give him so many "shut-outs!" :)

There is the "Grand Salami" which is a reference to a Grand Slam home run in Baseball.. where the batter hits a home run with 3 runners on base. I think it is funny to relate the home run to a sausage!
