How do they lose things so easily?

We were going to go to the library when my son got home from school, but one of the library books that my daughter has out is missing. I cannot find it anywhere. I have searched the whole house. My son even looked everywhere he could think of. How does a book just vanish? It is a big board book too. Do your kids lose things easily?

Yes, i have two daughters and the elder one goes to school. And everyday she will come home leaving her things behind in the school. At home too, i never find her pencils, eraser and her clothes at the proper place .A few days back she lost her wind breaker jacket in the school and i used to go everyday in the school to find it but to no avail. Finally, one fine day she brought the jacket home. So dont worry you too will find the book just like that. It will be somewhere in front of your eyes but you are not able to see it. Usually children do forget to take care of their things. When they grow up they will learn their responsibilities.

I just hope I can find it since it is a library book.

I am sure all kids loose things. Last year, in my house, I had a few moments of having to hunt around aggressively to find library books which were due to be returned. :)

This happens in my house all the time. Once I searched for a book for two weeks and I found it between our bed and the box spring! I really cannot understand how it got there! My son, who is 2 now, has now started taking out books from the library book bag that I have and is throwing things all over the place! It really gets nasty sometimes.
