Already advertising at record levels, Barack Obama has scheduled a half-hour commercial for prime time on Oct. 29, six days before Election Day.
Obama campaign officials said the campaign had secured a 30-minute block of time at 8 p.m. on CBS and NBC. CBS already was juggling its lineup to accommodate the Democratic presidential candidate, moving back an episode of "The New Adventures of Old Christine."

Do you think Obama's 30-minute commericals will have any influence on voters? Is it right for TV networks to sell 30-minute blocks of time to a presidential candidate?
Please do share your thoughts and if you could also share who is your presidential bet to make this discussion more interesting.

I think that is wrong. Personally, it is too much. This election had turned into a media feeding frenzy. What is Obama trying to prove. If he is already ahead, what exactly is his agenda? Alot of voters are going with what celebrites are saying to do. This election have more uneducated, young voters that are easily swayed. I am afraid we are going to be introuble. I personally am voting for McCain. I feel that both candidate have their issues. I am for less government and less taxes. just less. I want to be able to bear arms, and speak my peice. I am just worried that we are losing freedoms left and right. Sorry for rambling.

There's no need to apologize. That's the purpose of this discussion, for us to find a venue to speak out what we feel and think. You're right that this election has turned into a media feeding frenzy. I guess that's the name of the game! I just hope that the best man wins - the man who could bring America to brighter future.

That really is what it's all about. I think it would be better if people could put their party aside. It isn't a republican-democratic thing. It should be, who will get us out of this mess. Imagine what it would be like if both parties came together like they did after 9/11. That would be amazing. To come together and fix our country. Help us keep our haed raised high and honor our great country. Thank you for letting me say my piece.
Have a nice weekend.

1/2 hour commercial?! omg..thats worse than the 1/2 hour infomercials trying to sell the latest sandwich maker! at least with the sandwich maker i can sit there and go "yeah that looks easy..i totally UNDERSTAND that what you say you are making IS IN FACT a sandwich..which looks very tasty i might add, how much is it again?"
LOL...30 grueling minutes, stretching for what will feel like an eternity. can we say Channel Surfing anyone?
thankfully i have about 100 other satellite stations that i am sure there will be at least a more interesting (and less annoying) infomercials on showing that latest all natural male enhancement suppliment!
