Is people lacking good manners nowadays?

I often wondered if the words please and thank you were taken out of the Dictionary because people seldom use them today, people expect to much and take people for granted and never stop to realize that if that person wasn't there, then jobs wouldn't get done and their lives would be less easy! We are in such a busy, fast paced world that we don't actually stop and say thank you or express gratitude which to some people including myself goes a long long way. I hate being taken for granted and just a thank you will make all the difference.
