It was only in 2004 when my eldest daughter gave me a brand new cellphone.I was hesitant at first because it will be an additional expense for loading.I did not realized it's importance till I get sick. They could not bring me to the hospital if I did not text them because they are far from me.Have you had your cell phones since it was out in the market.I'm happy for you.You are ahead of me to benefit in its use.

I had my cellphone when i was in college in 2000. the cellphones available back then was nokia 5110, 6110, 6150 (just before 3210 was released on the market). I had my older sister to buy me a nokia 5110 since i still can't afford to buy my own yet. i was really helpful having a cellphone and nowadays, it is one of the necessity of the people. it's quite amazing how technology evolved. now, we can, not only talk or text, surf the internet through our cellphones.

You are absolutely right.I also admire people behind this technology. Our lives get more benefits from it.How I wished I had one earlier where I really needed it the most. When my children is still young.I did not have to worry of their where abouts if I had this cellphone earlier.

I got my cell phone at the age of sixteen. I just graduated from high school and my parents both us a cell phone as a gift. I and my mom went to the mall to but my first cell phone. I’m happy and excited looking the different cell phone units knowing one of it will be mine. I’m lucky that they let me have a cell phone. They know how importance having one and it’s really important and handy for me as I am entering college at that time. Glad you have one. Most old people don’t want to have cell phones as they don’t need it but in these days it’s practical to have one.

You have a nice brother too.He made you happy then by giving you that gift. But don't you think it is much sweeter when you receive than when you buy.Joke only. You know what you need.

Every time I bought a cellphone for myself, one of my sons grabs it very conveniently. This has been happening for the past ten years. So I've actually given up on owning one. I just pick up theirs and use it when I want to.

As long as all of you benefit for using it.We can even save more when we share isn't it?Especially when we do not use it often.

Erssyl, I had my first cell phone in 1989 and it was an analogue phone. A Motorola AJ model, and at that time it was quite a big thing. Not only in status but just carrying one is also quite a burden because it is rather bulky. However, I must say that being bulk has its pros as I did not loose it than those later smaller and sophisticated models. Difficult to misplace and very durable as well. I must stress just how communicating and remaining contactable was made easier from that day on. Just so convenient and handy till today.

How i wished I had mine earlier too.Yes you are right. The bigger ones has its different pros.We do not lose them easily. The smaller ones though sophisticated is more often misplaced.I also have that problem.

I got my first cellphone in 2002 my brother gave it to me as my birthday gift. I really appreciate it because the cellphone that he gave me was the latest model during that time. I still haved that cellphone until now but it's not working anymore. I buy a new cellphone last year and I'm planning to give it to my younger brother because I will buy a new cellphone again maybe late this year. Have a nice day..

I got my 1st cell phone 12 years ago in 1996 when I was 27. They weren't very common then but I had an old car & got it for emergencies only. I'm curious to know if the person who had one for 20 years had a bag phone or hooked up car phone at that time b/c I didn't think regular cell phones were available in 1988.

i got my own cell phone some 3 years ago and that leaves us to 2005 and it was when i joined my college and my uncle bought me one because my college is far from my home and i needed to be in contact with my family and now when i am in the university i have two cellphones and it is a great invention only if you misuse it then it can be a nuisance.i try now not to use it too often as i think it is in some cases a threat to my privacy but still it is good in more than a few situations. good luck

The fisrt phone i owned when i was a freshment in university. But right now,i had already changed it for several time.Because of lacking of money,i brought the cheap one.So the function of the it is not so complete. At that time, function of the mobilephone is the priority to buy it.But right now, when i was a sophosmore,i think the phone is no use except sending message and ask someone else's call actually. But when i step into the social,i think the phone will display it strong function to convinence our lift.

i had a zonephone sometime in 1994-95 (not too sure if the real term for it but in singapore we call it a zone[hone). it is a combination of a pager and work like a handphone. however, you can only use the phone to call when u are in certain area where there is service, if not, it will only have paging function. it was kind of irritating as whenever i recieved a page and i will to return the page with the phone, chances are i will not be in the network zone unless i am near to a shopping complex or CBD area. so most of the time, i am carrying a useless piece of pager in a cellphone design..haha. thereafter i had my 1st real cellphone in the form of Ericsson PH388. not too sure if u guys seen them before or remember them. they kind of hit the town and everyone was dying to get them before of their sleekness and good looks compare to those water bottled shape handphone.
