For the first time in ages I have actually got halloween off work, I am going to let my boys get dressed up, stock up on sweets for the trick or treaters and enjoy the evening with the family!! What do you guys do at halloween? If you were to dress up in fancy dress what would it be as!!!??? Are any of you having a party?!! hugs Jessica

Bless him! He looks cute in his outfit, I am sure you will have fun, it's good that you go as a family, here in the UK it is not celebrated as much obviously, I never went trick or treating as a child, not that I missed out, I just wasn't interested to be honest, we do get a couple of children come round and we have sweets in for them, but this day and age it's always best to have adults go round with the children rather than let children out on their own.

Hi Wolfie, I'm from the UK too.....no way would they be able to go out without me or my hubbie!!! Its very commercialised now, I remember making my halloween costumes as a kid now we're expected to pay nearly £20 for an outfit!!!! hugs Jessica

£20???? Ouch! Yes it's all commercialized sadly, including Christmas, won't be long for them to start playing carols, we've already started to get the commercials oh boy!

My daughter usually has a party in her house on Halloween but this year, I am staying at home because I have recently moved into a new house and I want to get to know my neighbours. I have already bought lots of sweets and chocolate for the local children although I probably won't recognise them with their costumes. However, the parents will be with them so at least I will get to talk to them and maybe invite them in for a some refreshments. I will probably ask my daugher and the children to come to my house and we will have a small party.

I used to have halloween pary's and get bin liners cut them in strips but leave some at the top them stick the on the doors like a curtain with all the scary decor around including a lifelike skeleton...but now that has ceased and instead I do my ritual to thank the lord and lady for the past year and the bounty that has been throughout it...littleowl

I prefer all the home made decorations but the kids have seen all the different ideas in the shops and are wanting all that, im trying to convince them they would have more fun making their own!!! hugs Jessica

Good for you. Sounds like you have a wonderful Halloween planned. We usually just stock up and wait for the kids to knock. I LOVE seeing the little ones and their costumes! My son doesn't like to dress up anymore, and it has never been my thing. But I enjoy seeing the different costumes kids and moms come up with each year.

Good for you! Sounds like you have a great Halloween planned! This year we will be out of town celebrating my son's 13th birthday (he requested a weekend trip with a friend, so we are doing that instead of a party). But usually we just stock up and great the trick or treaters. I LOVE seeing the kids and their cool costumes!
