Ultimate fighting... sport or organized brutality

Have the rules changed enough to keep the atheletes "safe" Is it any better than boxing? Will UFC fighters experience the same "wet brain" symptoms Cassius Clay, and other boxers suffer/ed from. Personally I love it, think it's the evolution of boxing

I love the Ultimate Fighting Championship so much, I purchased dvd's with them on. I have about 10 out of the total that there are, and plan to add more to the list as well. I have not seen how the rules have been changed, so don't know the answer to that one.
