Any Guesses on the Cy Young Awards This Season?

I think the National League is going to be the toughest one to make a pick to see who gets it. You've got three candidates that's been all season with Brandon Webb, Tim Lincecum, and yes Johan Santana. The odd case would be for C.C. Sabathia after coming over mid-season from the Indians with him going 11-2 with them and having an ERA under 2. The one thing that would be against CC would be the fact that he wasn't in the National League in the beginning of the season. In contrast, I think the AL Cy Young is probably the easier one to pick. The biggest one to probably have the strongest case would be Cliff Lee of the Cleveland Indians. He went 22-3 with a 2.54 ERA. Earlier, he had won the AL Comeback Player of the Year, which actually was something I wasn't thinking about. I would have thought Mussina might have been considered but at the same I wasn't sure who was in the running for a comeback if you know what I mean. Anyway, I've been seeing on ESPN that he is the front runner to take the award. What do you think right now? Will CC get the award and would he be eligible to get it considering he moved from the American League to the National League? The jury is out because I'm not even sure about it and I think it's very rare that something like that would be a consideration for that award.

I would like it Brandon Webb won it for the NL a 20 game winner. Thats hard stuff. I also like Cliff Lee for the AL. Another 20 game winner. Some one else I like in the AL is Mike Mussina who also won 20 games. But I'm pretty sure Cliff Lee will win the AL Cy young, but the NL like you said will be close. http://sportsrus.today.com

I think Brandon Webb is the favorite to win it in the NL but I am not sure. That's going to be a tough one. Cliff Lee I think will probably get it since he was the leader in wins, E.R.A., and best winning percentage. He was 2nd in Complete Games, Innings Pitched, and WHIP. He was 9th in the league in strikeouts. Thanks for the response though.

Cliff Lee had a fantastic season, but I might just (and only just ;)) side with Roy Halladay for the AL Cy Young. On the basis that he probably played against a tougher set of hitters being in the AL East - hell, even the Orioles had some pretty decent offense this year. That's my rational reason for arguing for Halladay, the irrational reason is I freaking love the guy... ;)
