Senegal misses 2010 World Cup and African Nations Cup!

After the overall great results at the 2002 World Cup, the Senegal football team misses another World Cup final tournament. Only this time, they even fail to qualify to the second African Group stage, thus missing the 2010 African Nations Cup hosted by Angola.
After an excellent start, with a 1-0 victory against the eventual winners of the group, Algeria, Senegal only managed to beat Liberia and collect 3 more points in draw matches against Gambia (twice) and Liberia, finishing third in the group.
Algeria moves to the second group stage while Gambia have to wait for the rest of the games to be played in other groups and see if they are among the first 8 best-placed 2nd places that also go through to the second group stage.

I had actually loved Senegal's progress in the 2002 world cup. But after Diop and Diouf, they have really failed to produce any other stand out footballers. So their drop from the World Cup is not surprising. But, their fall from the African Nations Cup is really surprising!!

It's not so surprising that they missed the 2010 World Cup, but it's surprising that they failed to even qualify to the second qualifying African Group stage!
I just learned from the radio, a minute ago, that the fans in Senegal torched a bus the team was using to travel to games, and attacked the Senegal Federation headquarters with Molotov cocktails trying to bur it down!

I don't suprise Senegal missed 2010 world cup final tournament,it's same as 2006 Germany world cup.Senegal is no longer a strong team in the world after Korea-Japan world cup.Diop and Niang is nearly 30,Diouf is logging out the national team.
Who is the successor?Who can help Senegal win the game?Senegal is a flash in the pan in the football of the world.

What a fall to a great football nation. This is a great difference to their black horse performance in the 2002 World Cup.

I think that the main reason of this is cause Senegal doesn't have any more stars as the 2002's team had... Also on the 2002 I think the team was on top form... the last thing that might be also a problem is the coach (though I don't know who he might be) On 2002 they played the "European" way and with the advantages as an African nation (speed,endurance) they were a decent team and made an impact on the WC tournament... Also don't forget that the team's stars have nothing to do with the way they were on 2002 (Is Diouf and Diop nowday's compare on the way they played on 2002? :P)
