Anyone whomake a mistake immediately says sorry and tries to get away with it. I think a lot of improvement cantake place at th work place if tehword sorry is jsut deleted. There shoud be no use of the word sorry inteh office. If you make a mistake, you should be given some form of punishment. Be it a fine or extra duties or additional hours of work etc. Will it improve efficinecy.

Well, I personally have a bad habit of saying sorry every single time I make a mistake. I don't necessarily believe that there should be a punishment everytime you make a mistake, only when you make the same mistake repeatedly. I agree that I associate the word "sorry" with doing something wrong and getting caught, and the words "I apologize" are an acknowledgement that a mistake was made and you caught yourself. But the actual habit of saying "sorry" is a hard one to break, even if I catch myself. And I can't say that I believe that it would be beneficial to punish someone everytime they make a mistake. And like most jobs I have had, if someone makes repeated mistakes, they are written up. And usually three write ups in a quarter will get someone terminated. In my opinion, losing your job is punishment enough.
