The thing of substitution

Accidentally you broke something so special to your friend, say a glass item. You know how special it was to him/her. Though nothing can substitute it, definitely you will try your best to substitute it, won’t you? What will be that thing of substitution?

Hi bvdev234,
If I accidentally broke anything special that belons to my friends, I will have to give her the money as I won't know what she would really like or I won't be able to find the same item that I broke so it will have to be money.
