Does traffic influence google position?

Hi friends, I got a question about position of my site in google search. Few days ago was my site on top google page for some key word I was doing some program which were increasing the traffic to my site. But now I do not have enough time to participate on these programs. Therefore the traffic to my site decrease. I have deleted some text from my web and drop 2 sites down at google. After day I returned at almost the same position. But now I decreased again, do you think it is because of lower traffic to my site since I stopped participate on some traffic exchange program? Or it is only because of the text I have deleted from my site??
