Hi Guys and Gals,With Christmas fast approaching, I want to know if you have ever been disappointed on Christmas morning....were you expecting something that you didnt get, or were you unable to get a gift for someone you know they really wanted, did you not hear from a loved one.....or worst of all when was the fantasy of father Christmas shattered for you!!!! I dont like Christmas as much as I used to as there are people who aren't around to share it with me any more but I make it a very special Day for my children, I love to see their faces light up as they open their presents, but as they are getting older I am finding it increasingly difficult to keep things hidden.....We still keep up the pretense of santa as 2 of the 3 still believe, the eldest thinks he is sooo important now as he is let in on a couple of secrets that the younger 2 miss out on!!!Anyway, What have your biggest Christmas disasters been?

I don't remember ever having a sense of let down on Christmas Day. As a child I never had an inkling what I was going to get and as an adult I tend to buy what I want when I want it. I expect nothing for Christmas and am always delighted when people remember. Our biggest disaster, other than the day that I felt so ill (not the booze) that I carved the turkey and went to bed, was probably the day that my mother put the turkey in the oven, we went to visit family expecting to come home to a sumptuous dinner (my family eats in the evening) only to discover that she'd forgotten to switch the oven on!! Thank goodness for corned beef. LOL.

PS Father Christmas exists. I'm 50 and have never seen any evidence to the contrary!
