Craigslist turning into SPAMLIST?

I go to craigslist about everyday looking for some cool stuff or to sell some, and lately I have also been looking for a small money making opportunity. I check out pretty much every part of the site. I keep seeing BEWARE SCAM, people are being robbed from housekeepers, or what not. Also the DATING part is such a scam. I have a friend who has done everything to look for a date, they went on craigslist hoping to meet someone great, just to find out it was a scam. They set up a date and she was all excited then she got a letter saying, thanks for being white trash you won me 320.00 in this weeks poll, your date for tonight was not real so you will be alone. I am sorry that is just wrong, playing with someones feelings like that, someone who really thought they were gonna have a good night after all the bad things that had happen to them recently, just to be scammed by a craigslist scum bag.. Really upsets me. Have you encountered this type or any type of SCAM on craigslist? Do tell!!

I agree. I just listed a car for sale, and immediately am having people from other countries email me. One actually got my address and is supposedly sending a check for it. Yah, right. I'm sure it will be a real check too ;) It's so irritating. People need a new hobby.

Lindsay, Uh, Craigs List is for selling and buying things. If anyone puts their info there and allows it to be public accessible, they will be spammed. Just like most sites on the internet, someone is always around collecting e-mail addresses to add to their spam list. Tell your friend that there are local single connections listed in phone books and on the Internet and that will be her best option. I'm sorry that she got burned by this "game" that some think is cute.
