I am desperately trying to shed some pounds. I have tried everything. At on point, I took diet pills. Hydroxycut to be exact. I had to stop taking them because it made my heart race. I notice many people take these pills. The instructions tell you to take 2-3 pills 3 times a day. Thats about 9 pills a day. Then the bottle only you about 1 week. Its obvious the the companies are making crazy money off of people. Then the Alli diet pills are almost 50 bucks a pop. What do you guys think of diet pills. Do you think they are overrated?

I don't think diet pills work at all. I've tried a few already and nothing really worked for me. It's still the best option to diet and exercise. I go to the gym all the time and it has helped me a lot. Still, I'm not at my optimum weight because I can't stay away from sweets. :(

I also have a sweet tooth and it is very hard. I do feel that no matter how much I walk and cut back, I don't lose the amount of weight that I want.

The best thing to do is just learn to eat right and control your excercise. Its not good to have to always take pills. Its better to get a program of excercise going and count the calories. The best thing that I have found that really helps is to keep the good foods available so you will have something you like. Salads, salads, salads, are a key because you can make them so many different ways.

I agree. I try to eat salads everyday for lunch. It just nags me whan I see people just popping those pills like it is candy and they lose weight. I guess everyone is different!!

Make take on diet pills would be "the easy way out". A lot of health/figure conscious people often times resort to the easiest way possible to shed off a few or more pounds here and there. Pills are definitely much much easier than planning your diet and daily exercise. But of course, I really do not blame anyone who takes diet pills. That was their choice, although not a very good one, in order to help them trim down. Most, if not all, of the companies would capitalize that and would make it as tempting as possible so more people would buy their diet pills. Aside from having side effects, especially those that are not accredited by the government, it's really costly. The best way is to do it naturally. Proper diet (no skipping meals), constant exercise and excellent motivation is all we need. It took me long to shed off a lot but I'm really happy and I feel very satisfied even if it was tough work.
