I have always known I had Indian in me, But there has always been alot of questions just how much? My grandmother was raised on a Reservation and we had always been told that here mother was full blooded indian. We had been told that here name was Morning Star Folsom or Dumus. No one seem to know. As kids I remember that we would get invitations to the Indian Pow Wows. My Mother never took us to one. But I became intrested in finding out more. During my research, I found that Morning Star was my 4th Great Grandmother. But still Don't know if she was Cherokee or Choctaw. I was told she her husband(My 4th G. Grandfather) was named Ebinezer Moore. My Mother never knew until I fould it that she was named after her G.G. Grandmother, Her Name was American Jane. And my Mother was given American as her middle name. She had never even heard of this grandmother. We really don't know how much truth was told to us about out family hareitage. I do know my G.G.Grandmother was married to John Quaid. And that she was suppose to be half indian but he was white. It is so unbeleiveable of all the things you can find out when you start suarching into you family haritage. But boy it is heard. Every way I have tried to search I still can't find the truth. But where I did alway think that they were from Ok. I did find out that My family was moved to OK from Mississippi. But there are still quite a bit of questions concering Morning Star. I have fould a Morning Star Moore that was Married to a Nathanel Moore for that area. And she use to be a Dumas. So many questions and so lost on how to fill out my tree. But it is like a puzzle. I just don't know if I can do it... Has anyone else living this kind of puzzle?? If so, I would love to get some tips on how to research all of this

I was not an american. But I can give you some tips as I was indian. If any one is a Pure indian and hindu, then they must belongs to any of the community. If you are a hindu (only hindus are old indians, all muslims and christians came from east in the middle age of india) the look for the community that you belongs to. Every hindu mist belongs to one and only one community. You can do this my checking your forefathers last name like family name. If you can really get this, your puzzle almost solved. Just go check for the community, you can get some information in wikipedia too, then trace the tree. But this works only when your fore fathers are hindus.

Ok...Now I'm really lost!!. I do know that Moore, is a family name. And Folsom and Dumus is where I am lost at. I have fould both name in the chawta and cherekee side, from the east coast side. But what make thing heard, is that when the government started sending the Indians to Reservations. The name changed. And trying to find out what the name would have been in indain and now in american is very difficult. You see, I have been told the Morning Star was a Indian Prinses, But I have also been told that she was an indian slave to a governer and was bought by my 4th G.Grandfather. And I can't find anything on Indain Slaves that a Governer would have own...Not sure how where to even search.

I think may be you can do this in social forums only. I can give some more information on indian princes and you can find the same in internet when you search for a specific word "kshatriya". Make some information on how the community formed. I don't know how indians are slaves to the governer. This may be happened in the time ruling of britishers or someone else. Do you know when did the Princess Moore came to america as a slave. You are almost done man. Just try to find the family name and the specific sub community. Look for the words "kshatriya" and "agnikula kshatriya" as they are only the most princess. Are you sure that Moore belongs to hindu community. Or else all this was waste.

No... Morning star Folsom or Dumas was an american indian born in Goriga U.S. on or around 1799. This was around the time the indians were forced into reservation. She married a man name Silas Moore (My 4th great grandfather) But trying to find out more about her starts and finishes there. No one seams to know nothing about her or her Indian Family. I heard stories that she was an Indian Princess. But have also heard she was bought buy Silas Moore from a Governer.

If you would like to contact us you may do so and I will give you the information on how to contact her. My email is scooby66@bellsouth.net. Oh by the way.
