I read a discussions her, claiming Obama is not a U.S citizen. Does anyone here really know. And why would he be blocking reliase of the documents that prove it? And yes I have seen those so called internet copys. But I think it should be proving in court.

There is no basis for accusing Obama of having a fake birth certificate--that's why it's not reaching any courts. You can't just accuse people of anything you want and then demand they go to court to prove their innocence...you have to have STANDING for your accusation first. And no one making this accusation has standing. It's been fact-checked. His cert. is real. See for yourself: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_1.jpg http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_2.jpg http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_3.jpg http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_4.jpg http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_7.jpg http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_8.jpg http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_9.jpg

More trivial and distractive nonsense. I think it is already been solidly proven that he was born here. If there is a court order to produce a birth certificate he should comply, if for no other reason than to put the issue to rest so we can get back to more serious issues. Cripe, no wonder this coutry is so skrewed up. Our biggest concerns are Obama's birth certificate and Palin's tanning bed.

Americans are largely a superficial lot. I still can't get over the fact that a lot people can name a list of popular day time TV shows, but they don't even know the first ten amendments to the constitution. It's quite depressing.

it is both frightening and saddening. I try to talk election and politics with a lot of people and you can almost see the drool form at the corner of their mouth and their eyes glaze over.

His citizinship is not in question. He was vetted the same as every other US senator. There is no reason for him to prove his citizenship at this point. Anybody who has ever worked for government in any capacity knows this. Furthermore, the idea that a candidate for the senate or the presidency goes around with a birth certificate that he should be ready to whip out upon request is ludicrous.

Saying Obama is not a US citizen is ridiculous. Think about it, had he not been a citizen someone in Washington would know, be it FBI or CIA, or one of those organizations and he would have been "outed" long before the primaries began. A lawsuit on this matter is just a waste of taxpayer money, and I don't know about you, but I'm tired of paying for ridiculous things for the government with my paycheck.

Why should he have to provide it? He's been to American schools and has served as a congressman, and both of those times he was American enough. If he weren't really born in the country, he wouldn't have made it this far. All this speculation about Obama not being American-born is just that - speculation. Some people just want to distrust Obama, and manufacturing tall tales about how he lied about his citizenship to become president is on of the many ways they've tried to paint him as a bad guy.

Here's a link to a youtube video telling about the Berg lawsuit for Obama to produce proof of his citizenship. Even if his birth certificate is real it doesn't mean he is a legal citizen of America because his step father adopted him and moved him to Indonesia. He would have had to relinquish his American citizenship. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA6_k3NtXZs&eurl=http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?memberId=81573&articleId=281474977474431&nav=MyGather

I dont know because of what we are hearing.I think it should be proven in court also. I also think he needs to explain this blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/08/21/obamas-ties-to... which are his ties to a known terrorist. Long term ties as well? He has alot of explaining to do. It judt dosent look like honesty to me!

I have no idea, but if he is not, he will make sure that no one knows about it. The reason is that I think someone wanted him to be President, and they made sure he was. I think the Democrats were looking for someone so far in the left and someone who was charismatic enough to get a large following. And they wanted someone who could appeal to the minority. So if Obama is a citizen, showing his real birth certificate would prove it. And the best way is in court.

You are right somene wanted him to be president, the democratic congress. And they made sure they got it, or at least they trying hard and I don't think there is anything that McCain can do, to win this. They are taking homeless people off the street and registering them to vote, and letting them vote on the spot. Where I was told when I signed a patition for a casino to go into our area, if I had not voted in a major election before november then I could not vote for president. So how are the homeless voting? This is the most rigged election I have ever seen. Obama not ever doing anything in his whole what 2 years of being a senator, will be their puppet and when they yell about not wanting another 8 years of the same thing, it is the congress that makes the laws and passes them, so no we don't want another 8 years of the same, but no one thinks of that when they are yelling. Alot of people riled up in our area about the homeless being able to vote, not that we dont' think they should, but they should have to follow the same rules as the rest of us. And I will call the board of elections to see what is going on. also told need a picture ID to vote, so did they make them IDS too. Better get used to the idea, and I dont' think there is a mean enough streak in McCain to come out and tell it like it is Wed when they have the debate. But I did see on one of his meeting that the people are riled up, we better get a lot more riled up or this country is in trouble.

I am pretty sure if he wasn't a legal US citizen that would have been pointed out by now. People make all kind of claims, and while I am not a supporter of either candidate, I would think by now someone other than a person on a discussion board would have found this fact and pointed it out. Of all the things people have against him I don't think that is high on the list of things.

If Obama wasn't a legal citizen of this country he would not have graduated from the colleges he did and would not be a U.S. Senator. He's not responding to the lawsuit because it's a nuisance suit and not worthy of attention. If this attorney had good cause I'm sure he would have been able to force the document(s) in question to be produced.

"If Obama wasn't a legal citizen of this country he would not have graduated from the colleges he did and would not be a U.S. Senator" Although I believe Obama is a genuine and born U.S. citizen, this statement is not nessesarily accurate. Being a U.S. citizen is not a qualification to attend or graduate a university and as far as qualifications for senate, one only needs to be a citizen for 9 years, not natual born. from the constitution, article 1, sec 3: "No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen"
