My birthday is in a few days time. My wife has asked me what I want as a birthday present and I replied that I don’t need anything since I don’t need any more clothes or any electronic gadgets. Which things can you suggest me to do on my birthday?

You can do an activity, instead! My daughter likes going skydiving, or playing paintball can be fun with a lot of your friends. I know what you mean about having too much stuff ... our house is far too cluttered, and it's going to be hard to get rid of things when we retire and move.

We have a lot of fall birthdays in my family. My mother's birthday is October 22nd, mine October 30th, my sister's October 31st. My Dad's was on November 2nd but he passed away 2 1/2 years ago. My mother, sister and I will be meeting for lunch as we always do to celebrate our birthdays together without obligating the rest of the family. But I am stumped this year because my mother moved into a senior residence. We had to clear out a lot of stuff from her big house and she doesn't NEED anything else. I do not know what to get her. I didn't know what to get for my sister either until last night when her daughter told me she has a tulip room in her house. She suggested I have my tulip picture that I posted on Triond blown up and framed. It would be more personal since I took the picture.
What to get me? Ha! What I want we can't afford. The only thing I really asked for his Brad Paisley's new CD. My sister always renews a subscription to a writing magazine she gave me a couple of years ago. It would be a great surprise if my husband surprised me with tickets to see "Jersey Boys" on stage in Toronto, but he doesn't think that way so I doubt it will happen. Frankly, I would just like my kids to clean the house, wash the dishes, DO SOMETHING around here. I don't need material things all the time.
As for you, are there any shows in your area you would like to see that your wife could get you tickets for? I never know what to get my husband because he has enough golf shirts and other golf paraphenalia (though I'm told he needs a new golf bag). One Christmas I got him tickets to see Brad Paisley in concert. Though we were way at the back, he loved it. I gave him the tickets for Christmas though the concert wasn't until March.

Why not something personal..it doesn't have to be expensive but something you like and would mean a lot to you...those are the things I prefer at times and they are also something you can keep-littleowl

Happy very very very very very very belated birthday to you.
Well, I don't know what you did but I hope it was fun. I would like a special dinner, roses, maybe a small party, and for a gift something I can and will use even if it is more for the house then me. I would suggest a gift card so that it can be used at a later date when you do decide what to get.

My husband and i like to go out for dinner on our birthdays. On his birthday I pay, and on mine he pays. It's a nice way to celebrate the day, without gaining excessive stuff we don't need.

Happy birthday ronaldinu and I hope you have a great one. I am afraid that I wouldn't be able to suggest something for you to do on your birthday as I don't really know you well enough. I suppose going out for a meal would be nice as that would appeal to almost everybody. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you enjoy it. @mipen2006 (5528)

Take your wife and go for a hike if that's what you enjoy, or a bike ride, or a romantic dinner somewhere, and have "dessert" at home!
Hope it's a very happy day for you.

What about some books or CDs?Or perhaps you can ask for some special time for just you and your wife,to bring you back to the time before having kids?
That would be lovely,I think.

Hi,
I don't really expect any birthday present from my
husband on my birthday,I just hope we can spent
time together on my birthday, out for dinner and
have fun together. And also wish we also stay healthy and
happy forever.
Of course, if he were to give me a surprise present,
I will be glad.
For my past birthday, we just out for buffet dinner
at hotel. I told my husband no need buy me present and
birthday cake.
A simple celebration is fine for me.as long as we
are happy and enjoy it.

Oh advance happy birthday my friend!!! For your birthday, then why not just have dinner with your family? Go to a special place you will all enjoy...with good food and good music. There a a lot of restaurants around that offer good services but of course at the right price. Another option if you want to be more practical is to just let your wife prepare special food in the house for your family or if you want you can invite your close friends to join you in celebrating your birthday.

My favorite thing to do on my birthday, is to go an amusement park, even at the ripe old age of 50! I love the sounds, smells, the greasy food, and yes the rides and roller coasters too.
The important thing is to think of something that you haven't done in a long time, but enjoyed at the time. Be a kid again, and have fun! Are there any Halloween events there?
