Have you ever been giddy?

Now I've heard the word 'giddy' used several times, in books and sometimes in every day conversation. I don't think I've ever felt giddy except for one time. I was at the chiropractor (back when I could afford it), and he popped my neck (besides disc damage, I have migraines, and this is one way he treated it). I know that when that happens blood is able to flow more freely, but I can't get all technical about it. It's kind of a release or whatever. Anyway, I sat up and couldn't speak. I mean I could, but didn't want to because I thought I might start laughing. I went to pay and just couldn't stop smiling. Luckily my dad was with me and he answered the questions for me. It was like a rush of blood to my brain or something made me feel this ridiculous feeling, and I have to say that was the only time I can say I felt giddy. I think I explained this poorly, but what about you? Have you ever felt giddy?

Your daughter sounds like me when I go two days without sleep. My mom can tell if I call her. She'll say, "Are you loopy?"

My daughter still lives with me, but when she spends the night at a friends house, I know if she got any sleep or not. And it sometimes wears off on me and gets me laughing..I am sure once she is own her own, I too will be able to tell if she had sleep or not..

Seeing as I am working graveyard shift and have huge sleep deprivation, I can honestly say that I get giddy at work quite often. The silliest little thing will set it off. Mind you I am not alone in this, thank god! The other girls I work with tend to have their giddy times as well. It makes the day go by faster if nothing else...lol

Wow, you have quite a setup. I imagine doing all that does make it hard not to be giddy.

I dont think I would call how yuou felt giddt. To me 'giddy' is lightheaded or dizzy and I have had that happen to me quite often. It was not as nice as your "smiling/laughing" sensation would be.

I was afraid I didn't explain that very well. Yeah, I was definitely light headed, and kind of felt like I was flowing, not floating, but flowing...but no, I wasn't dizzy. Just the light headedness. I remember thinking oh, that's how it feels to be giddy, lol.

I get giddy when I hear that McCain is winning. However, I think the polls are rigged by the liberal media. I don't believe what they say...they are just trying to influence people to vote liberal.

The day I believe the media is the day you need to put me in an institution.

Yes, similar to what you describe but without the laughing. I get it if I stand too fast or sit down too fast and sometimes if I turn my head too fast. It is like I leave my body, and I cannot hear anything. It is probably more light headed actually than giddy in my case!

I've gotten that temporary no hearing thing too when standing up too fast. Isn't that weird?

I always think it is a bit like being pulled down a big deep dark tunnel, backwards!! Not that I ever have but that is how I think it would be!

When I am excited about something or seeing someone whom I have not seen for quite sometime or when I feel like my crush is around, I think that's when I feel giddy. :)

Oh, WOW! I gotta try that out. I get the worst migraines about once or twice a month. And, except for Chinese herbal medicines, I've tried everything.

Sometimes it would give me a slight headache and it was because it was clearing the way for the blood to go to my brain. When things are adjusted everything flows better. While I was going he did wonders for the pinched nerve in my back, and at the time my migraines lessened as well. I know not all chiropractors are legit, but this guy was awesome.

I may have felt giddy a number of times, not often though. It sounds like that which you describe, or blood rushing to the head. I sometimes feel that and it tends to discombobolate me. Cheers!!

Yes, the pop he did to my neck did send the blood rushing to my head. That was the weirdest thing. And boy was that pop loud!

I have been giddy once! It was an accident. A sot drove a car crazily and bumped into me. I was giddy. Lol, except that, nothing was wrong with me! Even the doctor felt surprised!

hi ambiepam the one time when I think I came close to being giddy was coming back to my new husband after having been gone for ten days. we had only been married for fourteen days at that time,I was really new. Ihad been in SouthDakota defending my'marriage to my less than enthusiastic dad, I was after all31 for petes sakes. I got off the plane at Sky Harbor, and the Phoenix hot air hit me. My head was spinning and my husband was waiting for me on the tarmac. For a second I could hardly breathe and was so happy I couldnt have explained how I felt. there was the man I loved, and everything was fine. His love just overwhelmed me as he pulled off my heavy coat, and said, you dont need that at home. I was home. He was my home now.
