My wife and I went to a local park here, in Minnesota, for the purpose of seeing some fall cloros this past Sunday. It was a warm and sunny day with a strong breeze making the leaves float so often. This shot is at the edge of the parking lot of this park. I love this one the most as it has so many varied trees etc with a wide color sapn as well. Pink, red, yellow, orange etc. Do you walk to see fall colors as well? Any photos to share here maybe? This park is within walking distance to our house as well so it was a cheap trip to say the least.

I miss living where the leaves fall!
We have so little winter weather.
Our trees just turn gray and the blooms
disappear.
The leaves don't fall.
Makes me homesick!
Would love to see some photos.

Gray?
YUCK!
I've got to have my colors or I'd be lost.
Plus I need the leaves to rake for compost and mulch.
Thanks also.

I'm hoping to do a garden this upcoming
spring and I still don't know how to mulch right.
I guess I'll have to use grass clippings or something.
Are you supposed to mulch for a vegetable garden?

Mulch is used for various reasons.
I only add mulch to my garden to keep the moisture in the ground to make for less watering. But most gardens don't need a mulch. Mulch is also used to protect perrenials in cold weather months like here in Minnesota. For this puirpose I usually add about 3 to 6 inches around my lilies etc for the wintertime.
I add grass clippings each week to my tomatoes only as a routine also.

I grew up in Superior, Wisconsin. I am 30 (ahem, 28 for the 3rd year in a row) now and have lived in many, many states. There is no place more beautiful than Minnesota and Wisconsin for fall colors. Thanks for sharing!

While I was out this weekend I took my camera in hopes of capturing some fall colors. I was able to capture a few and I will attempt to add one of the pics here.
Isn't it nice when we can find fun cheap things to do, especially right now when everything is so unstable.

We do have a place walking distance to walk, but it is not a park with hiking trails, it is wild woods where we sometimes go mushroom hunting or if we want to just go off trail hiking..But we did go Sunday to the state park, but no pictures..
For one my daughter had the camera and for 2, we still can't upload pictures on this computer..But we did see many beautiful leaves and my son even picked up a very red leaf, but I didn't get it right away and so I couldn't preserve it for him like he wanted..

Minnesota looks like such a beautiful place! In the fall, I usually visit the mountains of North Carolina to photograph the fall colors. Here's a photo I took at Hanging Rock State Park: http://www.picable.com/Nature/Landscapes/Landscape.198573

Beautiful.
Growing up in New England, I always thought we were the only ones that had beautiful fall colors. I found out different when I lived in MN for a couple of years, and now in Ohio I see it here too.
We went out to a local state park yesterday and walked a bit in the woods. There were a lot of maple leaves already fallen along the trail, but we haven't hit our peak yet so I didn't get any pictures.
