With or without a watch?

October 13, 2008 2:55pm CST
I have worn a watch for quite a few years now and only take it of when I go swimming. However last week the battery ran out and I have kept forgetting to get it done, it was so so strange without my watch and I felt kind of bare! Anyway today my hubby sorted it for me so I am now happy again! so do you or don't you wear a watch and how would you feel if it was broken and out of use?

I don't wear a watch, I use my cell phone to check the time. I lose watches or ruin them with water.

Hey, same here. I wear my watch everyday and I can't go without it. It has become my company like perfume and though I can check the time in the computer or cell phone, but I am used to look at my watch once in a while during the day. I remember when my first watch broke for unproper use, I bought my secone one and I am fine with it. I also prefer guys who wear a watch, lol

I love having a watch on. However i tend to be very hard on them breaking the bands...loosing the pins. I'm forever replacing bits. I wear a leather banded watch because the metal bands tend to leave my arm itchy and green. I got my most recent one for Christmas last year by my sister and her husband. I love it

Yes my watch is leather banded for the same reason, its one of the best watches I've had that has lasted, my hubby got me a 9ct gold one but it didn't last long as the links broke!

i used to wear a watch, and use an alarm clock and carry a mobile. and my watch broke and i felt wierd, then i lost my mobile and i felt wierd, and i stopped setting my alarm and i felt wierd. but now, after about a year i feel really liberated. If you dont know the time, how can you care if your late? my body clock wakes me up with plently of time left to get ready for work, and damn it if im out and you want to talk to me, leave me a message and i will get back to you.

You have a good point but I really need to know the time because of picking my son up and taking him places, he is the main reason for me needing to know what time it is. My body clock wakes me before the alarm most of the time, which always pleases me as I can have that extra 5 mins and be aware of it!!! Thanks for your response

Yes, I do feel the same when I didn't wear my watch but only when I'm going out, it's okay for me not to wear it if I'm in our house. Whenever I go out, I always wear my watch, on the instances that I forgot to wear it, I feel kind of bare and got a nagging feeling that my attire is kinda incomplete.

I always go out with a watch. Time is very important to me,. I like to act within a certain schedule or time frame. Sometimes, when it doesn't match what I'm wearing then I'll forgo the watch. I have my cellphone with me anyway. But I'm really more comfortable wearing mine.

I have bought a new wristwatch 2 weeks ago. Before that I was using just my cell phone to determine what time is it. I start to feel uncomfortable to look every time to my cell phone. So I decided to buy watches and I am really satisfy with them, what is more they look really good. Now I wear them every day and I think I will wear them for long time.
14 Oct 08
I am pleased you are happy with your watch, they are very useful and you can be more discrete with them!

i always have my watch with me wherever i go and i will feel a bit weird as well if i have to go without my watch... i am really very particular about time and always addicted to looking at time... so i will be really lost if i have to go out without my watch... but i can always look at my mobile phone anyway to find out the time even though it is a bit more inconvenient... take care and have a nice day...

I cant go out of the house without wearing a watch. As if I cant live without it. It's the only accesory I wear everyday. I only remove it when I'm on duty because every room has its own wall clock and I cant wear it during Surgery or Delivery. And also, I remove it when I'm at home. I have plenty of watches to wear so when it has no battery or it needs to be fix, I can still wear my other watches. By the way my Uncle can fix watches so I run to him for repair. LOLs...

You are organised having loads of watches and an uncle who repairs them, you lucky thing!!! Thanks for your response

I haven't had a watch for several years since the appearance of mobilephoe.for most people, watch play a role of convenient in controling time.Few people even treat it as an adornment. But for some people who are extremele strict with themselves in every respect, especially for their work,it is very natrual to wear a wacth . So I guess the feeling without a watch will make them restless, for they always fear that they may miss the time of the important things or feel puzzled to handle their probles.
14 Oct 08
I think with me its more checking it to make sure I'm at the right place on time, i.e school run, after school clubs etc and its easier to look at my wrist then keep pulling my phone out my pocket. Thanks for your response.

I often wear a watch very often since I am always serious about the time secedule. For instance, if you have an important appointment with your clients, you must reach the mentioned place by both parties in due time, or else you will fail to conclude the related contract. If you have will be interviewed right now, you must reach the interviewing place before the interviewer, or else you will be impressed by the interviewer that you can not fullfill your future jobs as scheduled accurdately. So I always take a watch with myself, it is certain that the wahtch preserved for so long a time is broken or can not work, I will feel frustrated as it is with me all the time ,at least I have regared it as my one old friend of mine.

Yes it is like having an old friend, thanks or your response
