I really find it disturbing & annoying when someone took my picture without my consent. After camera are incorporated in cell phones nowadays many people are in the habit of taking pictures randomly , it's a kind of exasperating traits that came up recently.

I think it has muich mroe to do with WHO takes the picture, rather than getting consent. If someone I like takes my picture, I'm ok with it, I can take their picture at any time as well if I want. Problems might appear with acquaintances that take such liberties, they're not in the circle of friends, and only the closest friends are allowed to make you look like an idiot without you getting mad :D

Thanks for the BR, if I'd known I would have double-checked the spelling a bit more, now I see it's a disaster :D

Hi there. Well, I don't mind it so much if it's a friend who does it, i.e. take candid shots. Like the myLot-er above me said, it's all in the spirit of fun. However, if its a random person I don't know who takes my picture out of the blue without my permission, then it's kind of annoying, not to mention stalker-ish.

...Surprisingly, there are a couple pictures of myself that I like. Mostly, I hate having my picture taken. I'm usually on the other side of the camera and happy to be there. ...Interesting question. How did the question come up? It sounds like there is a story behind it. ...Have a great day and peace be with you. =(^;^)= Della

Well, I do this to my friend for fun sometimes, but when you are unaware that someone is taking a picture of you, it will probably come out horrible. That's why I do it, because it comes out really funny!

it's really annoying and i don't get why people do that. it's just weird. there are also times when people take pictures for documentary stuff, i pretend to sleep covering my face so i won't be seen in the picture.

It is always good manners to ask first, especially strangers. But of course, they are the hardest to approach. It is different if the picture is not so much of them as of the scene they happen to be in. You can't ask people to get out of your picture...and if what you are photographing is - say, a crowded sidewalk or a beach scene with dozens or hundreds of people in it, or a parade - then what? You couldn't realisticly ask them to move, or for permission, and if you waited for them to move, the crowd, the atmosphere, the colour and your picture would all be gone!

Yeah, it kind of annoying when someone took a picture of me without my consent. I don’t like stolen shot as it is not good to the eye to see. Some of my friends love to take stolen shots for a good laugh. That’s okay with me as long as they would delete it and make sure they won’t post it in blogs or other online community.
