Heavy Rainfall ruined our water

Friday, I go and get our mail from the post office and to my suprise I find a Public Notice-Precautionary boil water advisory for my area. Apparently the Medical Officer of Health is advising all people using water from the taps that are coming from the wells need to take precaution due to the heavy rainfall. His recommendations are to make sure you bring your water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used to: - Drink and ice making - Beverage preparation - Prepare food such as washing fruits and vegetables - Brushing teeth What is safe though is to disregard this if you are cleaning or doing laundry or washing dishes. Also, if you bathe, or shower it's fine but only if we avoid swallowing the water. With this on a shelf beside the mailboxes was some forms and bottles that test these wells. Do you live out in the country and find that things are tough?

No but I have heard of doing things like this for drinking water specaily if the rain could have washed dirt in to the wells .
