do you think dogs are smarter than cats?

i have both a dog and cats and i know that they are both smart but just in different ways like the dog doesn't know how to hunt and kill things all he ever does is lays around and plays with toys and sleeps and eats, but it is easier for me to teach him like tricks, such as sit and all of that but on the other hand cats pretty much potty train themselves and it takes awhile to teach the dog how to go to the door when he wants out, but then again dogs will let you know when people are around...so which do you think is easier to train dogs or cats? i would like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to come by and read and review my discussion and hopefully answer, i hope that you all have had a great day so far and that you have a great and safe evening today, thanks again for taking the time to come by...

I believe cats are simply cleaner than dogs. And, depending on the breed of dog.....possibly smarter....lol. MY dog, HAS to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen...lol. He's half boxer half pit, and doesnt seem to have a brain at all.

We have two dogs and one cat in the house. Both animals have their own intelligence. Cats can learn some things faster than dog and vice versa. Nonetheless, I find dogs are easier to housetrain than cats. I say this based on my experienced on both animals. Some people would find cats easier to handle. I guess it depends on the person. There a dog person and a cat person. It depend on our preference on animals.

I have always been a big lover of cats and dogs and I have always been a cat and dog person and my family has always had both cats and dogs,and I think cats and dogs are both smart in their own way,dogs are smart because they protect their owners and they protect where the live,and they are smart enough to be trained to do tricks and they are said to be mans best friend,and cats are smart because they know how to catch a mouse,and they are very sneaky when it comes to their movements,and they are very loving,and they make good companions.
