What is your child's favorite book and why? My daughter loves Hansel and Gretel, the little golden book version. She loves it because of the mean little old lady. The witch. What about yours?

well i guess my 3 daughters like the cinderella type of stories when they were at their primary years and likes to read stories on fairy tales and ask me on if its true or not..which give me a hard time on explaining things..

I grew up reading one of Hans Christian Anderson's Fairy Tales book. It came with a book on nursery rhymes, teaching kids math (addition, subtraction and multiplication), Aesop's Fables, and the Fairy Tales book. These included a tape for each book so the mothers need not read it out loud, they just play the tapes and follow through the books. It was a great idea, and I'm sad that it's no longer the same now-a-days. Commercialism has caused people to stop producing these packaged books (well there might be some but only the rich and wealthy could afford them). Most would sell it one piece at a time (which gives them more profit). I could remember that book, it helped me and my brother to read, and appreciate stories because each story would have a moral lesson in the end. Plus the fun part, the tape used sound effects and voices, until now, I could remember how the witch in Hansel and Gretel sounded like, I could even remember the statements for each of the stories, including the musical backgrounds they used. Indeed it was a good book. Something that every parent should look for. =)

My son loves his Clifford books and we read Guess how much I love you each day before his nap, and a lot of nights as well.

I used to love to read The Bernstein Bears. They were from the little gold book division as well. But I read Amelia Bedelia constantly. I don't remember what age I was, perhaps that was after I was over The Bernstein Bears, but both have fond memories for me.

I can't think of just one. I was an avid reader and I liked everything from Hans Christian Anderson, Grimm's fairy tales to Nancy Drew.

way back then when I was a kid, I do love to read Hanzel and Gretel too. that is a nice story, and it has lots of values. I also remember that I also like goldilocks and the three bears, little red riding hood, jack and the bean stalk, and my all time favorite "funny komiks".. this comics was from the Philippines. it was so funny, and you can learn lots of things in it. although it was really created for kids, adults also find this comics so entertaining. well I don't know if it was still in the market. but if I find one, I will for surely buy it.
