In India we call Leafy Vegetables we call them as'Bhajee' and normally it is one of the ingradient along with other dishes to complete a regular day's menu! Here we don't often eat leafy vegetables in the form of salads, like many people in the westen part of the World they do! We prepare the leafy vegetableseither in the form of cooked curry or we fry them to make curry along witn some spices.Normally such dishes are consumed as side dishes . But in the states like Punjab and Haryana the green leafy vegetables paly a major role in forming the major ingradient in one's daily menu. 'Sarson Ka Saag' is a leafy vegetable which is harvested when the Mustard plant is is in succulant stage . These are bolied and then fried in spices to eat along butter and locally 'Made Make ki Roti', baked from corn flour. Green leafy vegetables are good for health they are rich sources of Vitamins and trace minerals along with calcium and they help to form fibre in the diet which prevent digestive dis oeders like constipation. I never used tolike these green leafy vegetables as a kid but with the passing of time I developed taste for these stuff and today I enjoy them! Do you like to have lots of green leafy vegetables in your diet? Please respond! Thanks!

Thanks for participating and giving your opinion about Bhajee ! I amnot referring fried Bhajee, which is some thing like Bhajiye! I am refering 'Subji Bhajee', well this vocabulary differs from place toplace as we have more than 815 languages in our country including dialects! That way here in Haryana they refer Green leafy Vegetables as 'Saag'! In Maharashtra the Cooked leafy vegetable with bot of water in it is known as 'Patal Bhaji' where there is no fry at all!. Any way Thanks for the participation!

About the only green leafy vegetable I will even eat is lettuce and that has to be soaked with ranch dressing before I can eat it. I am not much of a vegetable eater though I never have been. I do like carrots but that is about it for veggies fruit is the same way I don't like very many of them.

I try to eat greens whenever it's available. I love eating salad too. I can eat one whole bag of lettuce if the salad's super good. :) I just don't like to wash my veggies. I try to buy the pre-washed variety, but sometimes it's not available or I'm on a budget so I get the ones with bits of soil on it. Spinach is very hard to wash because I wash every single leaf before cooking it and when I've finally cooked it the amount is like 1/4 the original amount. :(
