India

Yesterday I put up a discussion on the "Stupidest Religion". not many were happy with it. One of the mylotter "ThirdMillion" suggested about strangest religion. Now can anybody tell me why all other religions seem strange than ones own? or do you feel your own religion has any kind of strangeness which others do not have. I hope people are not offended by this. Defnitely you will not if you read it properly. Happy Mylotting.

Oh yes! :D I'm nut sure that's Hindu, but there are in India those guys that stick needles through themselves, then hang weights and ornaments and parade the streets. I find it fascinating and wish I knew much more about how they do it, HOW they modify their body and energy to allow them that, but it is one of the strangest things :D $cientology wins some prizes here as well, we all know why :P And then there is my favourite one of all, I would join TODAY if they had a chapter in my country, but as it is they're only available in South America and Amsterdam. Uniao do Vegetal it's called, and it involves the use of Ayahuasca during practice, at mass. Now for those who don't know, Ayahuasca is a STRONG psychedelic substance, that induces vomiting and then VAST changes in perception, cognition and mental state. Having tested Psychedelics myself, and being taken to very spiritual areas, I know I would sign up today with them. It is strange indeed, but so am I, so I'd fit in there :D On the same note, the Native American Church uses Peyote in their ceremonies, which contain the psychedelic Mescalin, for Deep spiritual journeys and changes. I would join them too, having felt the power myself. Peace :)

I could see why ppl were offended with the term "stupidist" religion since no religion is stupid really..As for the strangest, I dont think any are necessarily "strange" just not for me ya know but I understand that for the ppl who follow any of them it is perfectly logical and normal. Do I feel my own path is strange at all? No not in the slightest..I'm not religious but I'm a very spiritual person who's path consists of various religions (Vodou, Buddhism etc etc) now to ppl who dont understand any of the various religions and paths that make up mine it may seem strange or some of the things I believe or do may seem strange but thats simply because they arent me and arent familiar with it ya know..
