Do you look younger or older than your age? Do you know why?

Earlier today someone asked me weather I was a high school student! Believe it or not, I am actually a postgraduated student. Lots of Chinese look younger than their ages. U wanna know why? I will tell u the truth! It is not only food and life style. The way that we speak also makes things. U know when u speak "thanks", where is your tongue? How many facial expressions do you have? Well, ok, then, when a Chinese speak, the whole face is almost immobile! The tongue doesn't move too much. But if someone speaks good English, soon his or her face will change. This is the reason that lots of overseas students soon become much more mature than their agemates in China. I am only 3/4 Chinese. Obviously, it is something about genetics. Maybe next year, things will be quite different. Who knows! Do you look younger or older than your age? Do you know why?

I look younger than my age. There's this one time I scrub for a Surgeon and ask me what's my age, I told her then she was shocked to know because I look younger. Well, I guess its because I tend to feel young, make sure that I smile a lot in a day and laugh a couple of times in a day. I'm stressed yes but by doing so, I think it helps to make me look younger than my age. Also, I don't wear make up in my daily life not unless I need to wear make up. I guess it's not only in the genes but also how we take care of our selves physically, mentally and emotionally.

Unfortunatly, I look like I am 16 but I am actually 30. This is a bad thing. I get carded all the time, or people ask me how old my brothers and sisters are when they are actually my kids. I have tried to dye my hair, change my style, but in the end I still look young. I asked my dad why and he said that it was in our genes. He's 48 and looks like he might be alittle older than me, other than the white hair. His face hasn't changed a bit since I was a little one. My brother lookes about 28, his real age. MY bio-mom looks about 70 and she is the same age as dad. I think my brother got his chemistry from mom and mine from dad. In some ways it's alright. I mean, if I look 30 when I am ninety--do you know how frisky I could be LOL??!! I am kidding. My size has something to do with it too. I am 4'11" at my tallest and just hit 115 all muscle. I was never really built too girlish and have always been athletic. So who knows, I guess I should just be happy with what I have! Have a good night!

Modesty aside my friend but no one believes me when I tell them how old I am, so I always make them guess and they always, always say younger! This is a great compliment to me as I feel that working out at the gym keeps me fit, healthy and young, I do have a cute boyish face and when people say I am 28 I want to hug them and I am deeply flattered, when I turn round and say actually I am 37 they are amazed, the shocked looks and I mean genuine shock on their faces. Even my gym instructor thought I was in my late twenties, he shook his head in disbelief when I said, no late thirties! Mind you I got his age totally wrong, I thought he was 22, he was only 18, bless him!

By the way, I thought u were in 20s when I saw your pic. After I checked your profile, I knew the truth and was shocked too. Working out at the gym is a very good stragedy too keep young. My uncle used to go to the gym. He is much younger as well as handsome!

It is not for me to say that I look younger than my age, but yes, when I tell my real age (to selected people) they would say that I don't look it; that I look much younger than my age. One of the reasons must be because I am still single at this point (check my profile hahaha!) and don't worry about simple and big things that much. I watch what I eat but not to the point of depriving myself. My mantra is moderation in everything.

After someone got married, they soon become much older. I did notice that. I don't why. It really happens! On the other hand, things may be different from person to person

wow that's good news to me, in a way. give that i'm chinese, guess i do look younger than my age. however, i looked older when i was younger. strange isn't it? looking older when young and looking younger when old. not too sure if it is the language i spoke. spoke mainly mandarin when i was younger but switched to english as i grow up because of work requirements. or maybe i stopped laughing so hard at jokes. might also be the fact that grown ups are not supposed to show their emotions. cheers ;p

I think that I look a lot older then 25. When I was young I took that as a compliment but now lol I am actually getting deep creases in my forehead and I know that I look a lot older then I did in high school and I don't like it at all. My complexion is so blah. I recently cut my bangs to cover my wrinkles to help make me look younger but I cut them a little to short and now I just look stupid so I have to wait for them to grow out a little more lol. If I have wrinkles this bad at 25 I cant stand the thought of how I will look another 10 years from now. I remember a relative of mine said that she couldnt even wear makeup to cover up the wrinkles because the makeup would settle in the creases and make the wrinkles appear even worse. I wish we could stay young and beautiful forever hehe.

When I am in school, I always look younger than my age. But after my baby is borned, I look older than my age. I think it is due to the work pressure and workload and also due to family load.

Age guessing is funny. When I was 12, people thought I was 18, but when I actually became 18, people thought I was about 12. I believe that people thought I was older when I was still a child because I matured physically early. Most girls did not mature that early 60 years ago. The problem was, once I matured, I stayed the same size. People frequently equate size with age. One of my ancestors was a native American. She gave me a skin that did not age as fast as my friends with very fair skins. Sad to say, but life finally caught up with me. I'm still small, but nobody thinks this gray haired granny is a schoolgirl anymore.

Many people said that I was much younger than my age, although I have already been a senior student in the university, a lot of people thought I was a freshman.I don't whether it is good or not, no one wants to grow old, but looking younger, sometimes even childish would be of no help when looking for a job, or going on for further study. One of the reasons is that, since I have stay at school for a long time and had little contact with the society, I am really lack of work and life experience, which makes me look immature.

Well I am not Chinese but I have always looked young for my age. Reason? Well my skin is still young and supple, I stay out of the sun a lot which is rare in Australia where most people sun bake as much as they can to turn their skin tanned. I do not mind being white and do not try and get a tan. Sun baking ages the skin rapidly. I have spent a lot of my life meditating and dealing with stress which is a known aging thing. So I am not that surprised that I look 10 years younger than I am. Oh and I keep myself young by enjoying my life and not acting my age as some people say I should. Ha, get over it, life is to be enjoyed, the older I get the younger I feel and I intend to be as young as I feel.

Ohhh, do you mean those facial exercises for looking younger are not really effective? You mean those Chinese faces are immobile when they are talking so these means their facial muscles hardly moves. This contradicts the theory of facial muscle exercise which encourages a lot of facial movement. What can you say about this? I'm confused? But one thing is certain though. Lack of enough sleep can make one looks older than his age. Those who love night life and hardly sleep enough grow old too soon. Those who dehydrate themselves by not drinking enough water get's their skin wrinkled so soon; as well as those who don't like to eat fruits and veggies which are the source of Vitamin A and C which are good for the skin. And smokers do also mature easily. But there is one truth. Most smokers do not grow old! Why? Because they die young! Ha!ha!ha! I'm glad I am never a smoker and also I look younger than my age because I am living a healthy and contended life. Thanks be to God!

Well, it depends on the way that the facial muscles move! U know, someone likes smile, then they look younger. On the other hand, someone likes yock! There may be some wrinkles on their chins! Anyway, I am glad that you look younger! Have a nice life!
