Have you ever been about to sit down and then had to get up to answer the door?

About five minutes after my hubby walked out the door to leave for work, he was back, knocking on the door. I had just sat down to get some stuff done online. So, I got back up and answered the door. Turns out he had a stack of mail and other stuff for me. So, I took it. Shut the door. And went back to sit down. About a minute later, he was knocking on the door again. So, I got up again. Apparently, he'd forgotten his car keys. I hung around the door for a couple minutes to see if he was going to come back a third time. I'm not complaining! Just gave me a chance to get another good bye kiss! Do you ever have to get up repeatedly to answer the door?

hi beauty queen my son has a habit of starting out , then returning to get something, leaving, coming back in ,leaving only to return again for something before he is gone for good, never fails. Iused to get really amused at him. why he couldnt do everything at the same time was beyond me.

I think lots of guys are like that. Men don't multi task well, they've proven that in studies. I guess it's a prehistoric kick back to times, when they would go out hunting animals. For women, we have to multi task to keep up with the house, kids, money, etc.!

Yes this has happened on several occasions. Not just the door either. Sometimes after I get the kid's plates made for supper, I make mine and just when I sit down I forget something, or the kids forgot something, or LOL someone is knocking on the door.

It doesn't happen to me very often with the door, but it happens a lot with the phone. Just today it kept happening with the phone actually. I promised my son that we could get in my bed and snuggle and watch Bob the Builder after Daddy went to work. He went and got the movie and I popped it into the player and got everyone (the dogs had to snuggle with us, too) situated under the covers, or on top of the covers in a way that didn't bug us, and the phone rang. I got up and answered it, got back in bed, and it rang again. I answered again. Both times it was someone that had a valid reason to call, but it wasn't something that took longer than a couple of minutes to discuss. Once I was in bed, about five minutes later the phone rang again. Elliott yelled really loudly "No more phont calls!" and sat on me. lol It was my husband that time, so when I didn't answer, he called my cell. Luckily it was right on the night stand so I was able to talk to him without making Elliott move.

Oh, that's sweet! Kids can be really persistent. Especially when it comes to TV and quality time with Mommy!

Nope! No one ever comes here and they never phone us hardly either! Pretty quiet here most of the time except when I am expecting my son's therapist or respite worker...But I am aware of those scheduled times and so am prepared. ~Heavens~

It's a good thing that you have everything prepared. I should get my time more organized. Some days, I'm just flying by the seat of my pants and hanging on for dear life!

I don't recall having to get up and answer the door several times in just a few minutes, but I have had to deal with the same person calling several times in a short period of time. My sister does that sometimes. She will forget to tell me something and then call right back. Of course I am never near the phone when she calls back, so I have to go across the house to get the phone again.

Happens all the time. I have to constantly get my butt off the chair to answer the door or the phones (which are always annoying). Whenever the baby cries at home asking for some food or whatnot, someone in the house has to get up to get her some food that she wants. Whenever I have to work on my homework and sit on my butt and start working, then oh no, I have to refer to some of the sources, and they are all in my flash drive. My flash drive is not with me, so I have to get up and go look for it. That really happens all the time, and it's not just me having to get up and answer the door though.

My hubby usually has his keys on him. SO I have watched him come in and out a few times before the car leaves the driveway. But I'd leave the door open too. Just for good measure!

I cant say Ive had this problem, not many people knock on our door but it is annoying when you about to get comfy and settle down to do something and someone disturbs you.

Never recall that ever happening to me. If it did I am sure I would be very annoyed with that. And probably be ready to say a few chosen words.
