Can someone explain to me what the star means and how you get it?

I just reached my 100th post and when I did a star popped up by my name with an 8 in it. I have seen them all over but I don't know how I suddenly got one and with such a high number. Does anyone know the details about it?

A star can be earn by the quality and quantity of your performance and reputation here in mylot, how you reply to other post and how you post as well as the kindness of information and knowledge that you share with others.
