Hello dear myLotters. I spend many hours a day on the computer, at my work place and at home. Most of the time I use the desktop. But, some times, when I would like to relax , I get on to my laptop. Which computer do you use ? Desktop or laptop ?

Usually when I'm at the office, I use a desktop. I bring my laptop to work but not that often. At home though, I only use my laptop because I don't have a desktop anymore.

I differ depending on where I am. if at work I can spend anything upto about eight hours a day on my desktop computer. However when relaxing at home I much prefer to get cosy on my bed, laptop in hand and surf the net from there. I must admit I do find desktop computers much more comfortable in some ways as I tend to fidget alot and often find I have to manoeurve my laptop round me.

I use both. But i think a laptop is more convenient for me rather than a desktop. With the desktop i have to sit all the time at the same place while doing the work. But it is not the same with my laptop. I can move the laptop with me wherever i go. I sometimes do my cooking also with working on the laptop or while making my daughter study in her room. I work on my desktop only when there is nobody at home and all my household work is done. For me laptop is the best for me.

I only have a desktop and I really only want a desktop computer. I've used a laptop before and can't get very comfortable with it. I'm sure if I used it all the time I'd get used to it. But I find my posture suffers when I'm on a laptop, probably because I never have sat at a table or desk to use it. And I don't like the keyboard laptops have either.

depends upon where i am...when im in the office i have a desktop but when im home i usually have my laptop. laptop is much easier to use and install and i think the electricity used is much lesser. When electricity fluctuates i dont have to use an AVR (is that what it is called?) for continuity.

Hey greeline! I use a desktop. I don't have a laptop. I am quite happy with my desktop. I don't have a need at the moment for a laptop. I don't travel anywhere or work outside the home so there is really no need for anything but a desktop. I feel that having a desktop is easier and more reliable and supposedly longer laster so I am quite content to sit in my little kitchen/office and use the computer. I am actually awaiting my new computer desk which I should be receiving any day now. I finally picked one out and I sure hope it is sturdy enough to hold my heavy 17" old fashioned large monitor. It's only 3 years old, but I think it was one of the last compaq's systems made before they went out of business. I got a really good deal on it fully loaded with cpu, monitor & printer for about $400 brand new. So for now I am happy with what I have and hopefully will remain that way for as long as possible!

I have both. For office works i prefer to use laptop as i have to move files. For my personnel works i prefer my desktop. Working for long hours in laptop is tedious for me. Where as i can work comfortably with desktop. Desktops can be easily upgraded. Whereas upgrading laptops will cost you more.

I use both a desktop and a laptop, sometimes both of them at once. But nowadays I mostly use the laptop, because I bought a wireless router and now I can just sit down anywhere in the house with my laptop and surf the net.

oftentimes i use my laptop. for a gal who is always on the go, a laptop is the best bet. though right now, i need to purchase a new battery for my hp pav. it barely reaches the 2 hour mark without me plugging in the charger. but i still love my laptop. desktop is so bulky and noisy (particularly those cpu fans)...ear splitting...

I love my laptop so much I use it more than 10 hours a day!! I can't get enough of the internet there are just so many things to know and see when I'm online. i also like chatting with my friends. And earning money online is a must. Though I don't earn much here on mylot I genuinely enjoy the company and the stress free environment. I only use my desktop when I need to have something printed because our printer is installed there.

I do have both desktop and laptop. I always use my laptop while surfing on the internet but it is more convenient and portable. I can use it where ever I like and can bring along with me when I am out.
