With Christmas right around the corner and Hubby dropping hints, I bit the bullet and bought him his Christmas present early. We usually buy one big item for each of us and then a few small ones. His big one is the full version EverQuest II: Rise of Kunark game. It has all the expansions with it and comes with some extra goodies. He has been hinting for the last couple weeks about how much he wants it and I've been letting him think that he would have to wait till Christmas. Well, I ordered Friday online so it should be here tomorrow. I couldn't keep a straight face today when he kept hinting and guessing so I finally told him...his face just lit up and now he'll be bird-dogging the mailman till it gets here LOL As for me, I don't know what I want yet. Maybe I'll get the first season of Bones on DVD. Eventually, I'll be getting the game as well...but I don't know if I'll get it before Christmas. Do you ever surprise your partner with Christmas presents early? Are you good at keeping them secret or do you give it away? What's the best gift you've gotten for Christmas from your partner? I know you probably can...I'm terrible about it. Especially when it's something I know he really likes. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

I am currently separated from my husband, however he has never surprised me with anything...What he will do is ask what i want and we go to the store and i pick it out,not really a surprise...My biggest surprises comes from my children. They have gotten me boots & matching jacket, laptop computer & digital camera and other fine things but not from my husband ,sorry to say...

I could never get a present for my now ex-husband that he liked. He had very expensive tastes and although I tried to get him unique things that anyone else would love, they were inexpensive and ended up in a drawer somewhere, unused and unappreciated. I'm so glad your husband likes his gift! Simple tastes are a blessing, a person is easily pleased that way and enjoys life so much more.

Hi twoey! That's so nice that you got your hubby just what he wanted for Christmas! But, I would have made his wait. I like to open my gifts on Christmas day. Me and my boyfriend will be spending our first Christmas together this year. Last year we weren't together. He didn't want to celebrate and neither did I. It wasn't a good year for either of us and we weren't living together yet. So this year he wants to do have a really big Christmas and go all out. He's been talking about it for months now. He keeps bugging me to start saving for his gifts. But, since his birthday is in November right around Thanksgiving I have to get past that first. He has given me some ideas but I have no idea what I will be getting him yet. I know that one of my big gift will be the perfume that he was supposed to get me for my birthday, but didn't. So I really do need to start saving, I just don't know how I'm going to manage and I really want it to be a special Christmas for both of us.

I am terrible at keeping secrets like that...I love to see him happy and I guess as long as he's happy that's all that matters. I hope you get what you want for Christmas. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

We used to give lots of Christmas presents but for the last couple of years we have cut back on them. We are getting to the stage in our lives that we just want to get rid of stuff rather than accumulate more. This year, we are just giving small gifts and money to our grandchildren. My husband and myself have agreed not to give each other gifts and so have the rest of the adults in our family. This is due to the recession and none of are sure whether or not we will have jobs in the new year. We will still have a great Christmal as we will all meet up for family reunions and have dinner in each others houses. I think family gatherings are the best part of celbrating Christmal. Hope you have a great Christmas twoey.

I am good at buying gifts early and not giving them until Christmas. My husband is not. He always wants to give me what he buys immediately. He gets so excited when he knows it is something that I will really like, he can't stand not giving it to me. My favorite gifts from him are my sewing machine because I asked for it for years and he finally bought it for me. I have used it a lot too! I also love the Coach shoes he bought me one year. They were a complete surprise. He used to do terrible with Christmas shopping but he has gotten better through the years. He loves to give me gifts all year round and always does good. I think Christmas just stresses him out and he panics.

I had been planning on buying my hubby a laptop for christmas this year, however as is usually the case whenever I plan a surprise, the fates conspired against me and decided to break his old one early. I was most peeved as I had hoped it would soldier on til christmas. Anyway, it did not and so my surprise flopped as I had to tell him and let him have it early. The best present that he ever got me was last year when he bought me about four of my favourite perfumes and so gold earrings. I doubt I will get that again this year though!

Well my husband and I do the same thing, we'll buy one big item and then a few smaller things. Its hard for me to keep a secret when it comes to buying his gifts, if its something that I know he's really been wanting, its hard for me to wait to give it to him. Usually I make it, and I'm able to wait, but its so hard..lol. The thing with him, is when he buys me something, he gives me hints, and I can usually figure out what it is, so when he gives it to me I have to act surprised, it happens every year, so this time I'm going to ask him to not tell me anything, no hints or nothing, because I always guess right, and I'm not surprised. I'm into music, so the best gift he's given me is an acoustic amp for my acoustic guitar, whenever I go sing, its always hard for me to hear my guitar because its not an electric, so now with my amp, I can plug it in and I can hear myself playing, I love it. Thats the best thing he's given me so far. Most of the time, he just gives me money and tells me to go shopping for myself...Have a good day

Hi twoey68, My hubby is keen cyclist and he wear all those expensive cyclist clotheins so last year I got his friend to buy him a arm warmer and give him the money for it, so when I give it him on Christmas day he was so surprised, because he knew I don't have a clue about bike clothing, I don't get my present till after Christmas, he waits for January sales, cheap ah! I don't think I'd like to do this.. Surely it isn't a Christmas Present if you give it to him two months before the day? Well everyone to their own I guess! I would make my boyfriend wait.. I'm mean like that :)

We haven't gotten anything early in a while unless you include the aquarium we got a couple of years ago. We really have not had the money to do much in the last few years. I did get a nice surprise a few years ago when my husband surprised me with a dress, a coat, a purse and diamond necklace, earrings, and ring. Once in a lifetime for sure. I nearly cried.

Hi twoey, wow..that is cool! ANyway, in my case, I haven't tried giving it early, it's hard to keep a secret but I was able to manage before and hubby was excited when he got it on mail! LOL! Anyway, best gift I have from hubby I guess is the vacation money he gave for my Sister and her hubby as well as Christmas money for my Parents last December and I am glad that he is planning another wonderful gift for my Family...It makes me very happy especially this time that I am not working and can't give my Parents and Sister anything wonderful and pricey! LOL!

We only buy Christmas pressies for our son, the inlaws and neices and nephews. I have a few to buy for but I might just end up having my son make some for the grandparents. My sister in law had a son in February so am looking for something to send him for Xmas - he lives in Australia.

I always try and find stuff as surprises big things he usually always knows about like new tv or xbox but I've sneaked him some new pjs and a blu ray dvd that he wanted and a game is preordered thats out nov so he'll probably end up finding out about that one as i don't want him to have it twice and he's likely to want to play it as soon as it comes out. I'm good at hiding it away and not telling him last year i managed to hide a bike and everything until xmas day lol. My boo isn't as good at surprises but he's getting better. he always wants his prezzys early and then when it comes to the day you can tell with his face he feels like he's got nothing so i always have a stash of small things so that has something to open. I love watching people open prezzys thats the best bit.
